Jade Peirce sat up and slicked her short fluoro pink hair out of her face. She slipped her feet out from under the covers onto the ground. She looked around her room. Skateboarder posters were covering her walls. She smiled, pushing herself off her bed and walked over to her closet and pulled out a pair of light purple jeans, fluoro green midriff singlet, her white and red checked cap and her purple headphones. Then stuffed them into a bag and reluctantly put on her uniform. She pushed open her door and walked down the stairs towards the kitchen. When she walked in she saw her mother making breakfast.
"Morning" she called. "Morning" Jade sighed as she slumped into a chair. "You sound tired, well I did tell you not to stay out late with those baggy pants wearing street urchins".Jade stood up pushing the chair back slamming her hands on the table. "They are my skateboarding gang and stop talking to me like I'm two. I'm fucking sixteen you bitch. Dad wouldn't have a problem with it. Your just too, too catholic". She grabbed a piece of toast and stormed out of the kitchen and into the landing.
Jade slipped on her red and White checked Vans and was just about to leave when her little brother, Sam wrapped his hands around her legs. "Leaving so soon". She crouched down to his height. "It's OK Sam. I'll be back later. You won't even know I'm gone" she whispered. She winked at his as he let go. she hugged him and patted his head. She turned and grabbed her skateboard and swiftly left the apartment. She made her way over to the elevator and pushed the down button. and the doors slid open. She strode into the elevator and pushed the lobby button.
She waited and waited until the metallic 'ding' of the elevator bell filled the small compartment and the doors slid open once more. When she entered the lobby she was greeted by Dan Atherton his shorty long black hair with red streaks was combed to one side. "Hey" he called across the lobby. "You look pissed of about something". He strode over and took her hand in his. "Yeah, my Mums giving me shit about hanging around you guys".
He shrugged "You wagging school again today?" Yeah, I need a break but I need to find somewhere to get changed first".So the two skaters left the lobby and skated down to the nearest toilets and Jade got changed into the clothes she had stuffed into her bag earlier. After that the two made their way to the groups hangout, which was an abandoned factory. When they got there they were greeted by DJ who was from an African/ American suburb in New York, Violet a Goth girl who ran from an etiquette school and had been living on the streets ever since and Mike who had ran away from home when he started getting shit from his family when he told them he was gay.
"Ah, hey boss. What are we doing today?" Mick asked Jade. "Don't know. Maybe we could go and do some free skateboarding and then some graffiti". They all called "YEAH" and they grabbed their boards. Each of them skateboarded out in a line into the Washington City.
