It was a Friday night under the lights. The stadium was packed, the crowd a sea of roaring fans clad in school colors, all eyes fixed on the field. Jax Knightley stood tall in the center of it, his jersey drenched in sweat, his helmet tucked under his arm as he surveyed the crowd. He'd just led his team to another victory, the echoes of the final whistle still hanging in the air. The excitement was palpable, and the atmosphere was electric, but Jax's mind wasn't entirely on the game.

Tonight, something else was on his radar. Something—someone—he hadn't expected.

It all began when his best friend, Connor, pulled him aside after the game.

"Dude, you're never gonna believe this." Connor's voice was laced with excitement as he grabbed Jax's arm. "Luna Blake. She's here. In the VIP section."

Jax blinked, unsure if his ears were deceiving him. "Luna Blake? As in, the Luna Blake?"

Connor's grin stretched wide. "Yep. The one and only. And I'm pretty sure I just saw her take a picture of you."

Jax's heart rate spiked, but he quickly masked it with a chuckle. "What, like a fan photo? Is she a fan of college football now?"

Connor just raised an eyebrow. "Man, you're really asking me that question? You should go over and say something."

Before Jax could respond, his older brother, Levi, appeared beside him. A seasoned NFL receiver, Levi's presence was commanding, and his advice always practical, yet a little bit protective when it came to Jax.

"You're not seriously thinking of going over there, are you?" Levi's voice had a playful edge but was laced with genuine concern. "Fame's a heck of a thing. Keep your focus. Don't let it distract you from what matters."

Jax nodded, though his gaze lingered on the VIP section for just a moment too long. He wasn't sure why the idea of meeting Luna Blake seemed so intriguing. He'd seen her perform on TV, heard her songs that played everywhere, but he had never really thought much about the woman behind the music.

"Not tonight," Jax said, shaking his head. "We've got the championship next week, and I need to stay focused. But I'll keep my distance."

But despite his words, something tugged at him. As the crowd began to dissipate and the team moved toward the locker room, Jax found his eyes drifting back to the VIP section. There, standing at the back, a small entourage surrounding her, was Luna Blake. Her long dark hair cascaded down her back, and even in the low light of the stadium, Jax could see the unmistakable aura of stardom that surrounded her.

He should've kept walking, but something about her was magnetic. There was a vulnerability in the way she stood, a slight awkwardness that clashed with the image he'd seen on television. She wasn't just a pop star in that moment; she was a person, just like him.

As if sensing his gaze, Luna turned. Their eyes met for a split second, and Jax felt something stir inside him—something he couldn't quite put into words. It wasn't the typical starstruck reaction. No, this felt different. This was curiosity.

Before he could make sense of it, Luna quickly turned back to her group, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips, and Jax was left standing there, trying to shake off the feeling of being completely out of his depth.

Later that evening, after a brief media blitz, Jax found himself in the quiet of his apartment. His phone buzzed with messages from teammates and fans congratulating him on the win, but one message stood out.

"You were amazing out there. If you're free later, I'd love to talk. – L"

Jax stared at the message, his heart pounding. Luna Blake had texted him.

What the heck was going on?
