"Dad. i'm scared"

"I know Kala, I know" says dad as he was inserting a giant injection in her arm.

"I'm so sad that this had to happen" says Kala.
Dad just makes a deep exhale, you could feel the sadness in his breath.

"You don't have anything to be sorry about Kala" mum comes out of nowhere. "The Universe has your back, remember?"

"You always say that....."

"Well, has Universe ever dissapointed you?"

"Not yet" says Kala while pointing the word 'yet'.

"Remember that you have the power, also translated as a 'lucky charm', nothing bad can happen to you"

"If this is not bad, I don't know what is" says Kala. She knew these were one of her the last words. If she could only describe what she felt at that very moment. Sadness was in her mind. Her body didn't die yet, but her soul already did. Soul dies when you decide that. Kala already decided that, few days ago. When she heard the bad news. Her body was hurting too, a lot. It was dying, slowly, painfully.

"Kala...... We're done" dad said and looked at her with a distraught look, then looked at the pills.

That was the last thing she wanted to hear.

"Ok I guess we're done?"

Mums voice cracked as she was about to cry. And she did. One single tear streamed down her cheek. And then another one, and then another one. Until she was completly in tears. Dad came and huged her tightly.
Kala was never good nor resourceful in situations like this. But this was the moment everything was going on around her. They were crying because they were sad for her.
Her stomach suddenly started hurting out of nowhere, like a sword was suddenly in her. She never felt pain. The bad pain, the pain of the death. The pain of the real suffering.
Kala screamed and started to writhe on the floor like she was dying, except, she actually was. The pain was beating on her like a drum. Pain so bad you'd take death with a smile just to get away from it. But maybe she liked the pain, maybe because she wasn't weird that way. Because without it, maybe she just didn't feel real.

Mum and dad came and huged Kala. The way they never did it before. The way that only death suffering people can feel.
Dad dragged Kala to the bed and gave her powerful pills. Pills so powerful they're able to take everything. Pain, life.
