As the meeting wrapped up, a loud crash echoed from down the hall, startling both Sailub and Pon. Sailub's expression turned cold and tense, and he immediately rushed out the door without another word. Pon instinctively followed, confusion and concern swirling in his mind.

"Please, Young Master, calm down!" one of the maids' voices rang out, pleading. "Quick, clean that up! The kids might get hurt!"

Pon's heart pounded as he reached the entrance of the room, where a flurry of activity unfolded. Maids and staff were gathered, attempting to handle the situation, their expressions strained as they moved carefully around the shards of broken glass on the floor. In the center of the commotion was Silas, his small frame trembling with frustration as he continued to throw a fit, eyes squeezed shut as tears streamed down his cheeks.

Sailub was already beside his son, crouched down and speaking to him softly, trying to coax him out of the tantrum. Pon could see the worry etched in Sailub's usually stoic face; even the powerful, composed alpha seemed helpless in this moment, unsure of how to reach his distressed child.

Watching Silas so upset tore at Pon's heart, a pang of empathy washing over him. Without thinking, he stepped forward, his voice barely a whisper. "S-Silas..." Pon's voice was soft, almost tentative, but something in it must have struck the boy. Silas's head shot up, his tear-streaked face turning in Pon's direction, and he immediately stilled, his small body reacting as if hearing a familiar, soothing sound.

Then, to everyone's surprise, Silas broke free from his father's grasp and darted towards Pon, his tiny hands reaching out. Pon instinctively knelt down and opened his arms, and Silas threw himself into Pon's embrace, clutching him tightly. Pon gently wrapped his arms around the child, whispering soothing words as he rubbed small circles on his back.

"It's okay... I'm here, Silas. I'm here." Pon's voice was calm, and his gentle tone seemed to work wonders; the tension in Silas's small frame began to melt away as he relaxed against Pon.

Sailub stood there, watching in silent amazement. He'd never seen Silas calm down so quickly, and certainly never in the arms of anyone other than himself. For a moment, he was speechless, struck by how naturally Pon seemed to soothe his son's anxieties.

Seeing how Silas clung to him, Pon felt a wave of determination rising within him, stronger than any doubt he had felt before. He understood now, on a visceral level, that this child needed him. The job wasn't just about the money anymore—he wanted to be there for Silas, to give him the sense of comfort and stability he seemed to crave.

Pon looked up at Sailub, his arms still wrapped protectively around Silas. "I'll take the job," he said firmly, his voice steady with newfound resolve.

Once the contract with Mr. Hemmawich was settled, Pon's heart finally slowed down—until he suddenly remembered his prior commitment with Mr. Michael at the cafe. Panic surged through him as he fumbled for his phone, his mind racing. He couldn't afford to burn bridges, especially with someone like Michael, who had taken a chance on him at Pavel's recommendation.

Quickly typing out an apology text, he explained that an unexpected opportunity had come up, one he couldn't refuse. Pon hit send, hoping that Michael would understand, though a part of him still felt guilty for backing out at the last minute. He took a deep breath, reminding himself of his new responsibility, especially after seeing the way Silas had clung to him.

Before he could leave the mansion to gather his things, Pon was instructed to meet with Fe, the head maid, for a rundown on household protocols and his specific duties.

When Pon found her, Fe's sharp gaze softened only slightly as she took him in. She was an older woman with an air of authority, and her composed manner made it clear she took her role seriously. Fe regarded him with a measured look before giving him a brisk nod.
