It was late, and the night had taken an unexpectedly chilly turn as they walked home from a quiet dinner out. They walked through an extraordinary starry sky and a cool wind can be heard through the trees. Aiden and James had been holding hands, but with each gust, Aiden finds himself moving closer to James, trying to steal his warmth.
"Are you okay Aiden, You cold?” James asked, noticing Aiden shivering quite a bit despite his efforts to hide them. Without waiting for an answer, he immediately wrapped an arm around Aiden’s shoulder, pulling him close to his side.
Aiden gave a small laugh, leaning into James with a relieved sigh. "Maybe just a little" he whispered, leaning into the warmth. "But this helps a lot, you feel so warm babe"
They kept walking like that, Aiden clinging onto James, who had now both of James' arms around him, warming him from the chilly wind and not wanting to let go of his boyfriend. Each step brought them closer together, and eventually, they ended up walking in a slow pace, as if neither of them wanted the moment to end.
By the time they reached their home, the cold didn’t seem as... Well cold as before, but Aiden was still clinging to James, he doesn't want to let go just yet "You know, we're home now, you don't need to cling into me anymore, I mean, not that I mind of course, I love having you in my arms" James said softly, looking down at him with a small smile.
Aiden looked up at him and exclaimed "No! I don't want to let go of you!" Aiden clings to him so tightly as If James might disintegrate if he lets him go (And also because he still felt cold) He loves pulling up his clingy behavior whenever the mood strikes
James laughed, adoring his boyfriend's clingy behavior "Haha, okay, if you say so sunshine"
Inside, they kicked off their shoes, and James had the idea of making some hot cocoa for both of them, fortunately, he knew how to make it.
After a while, James, With Aiden still clinging to him, went to the couch and gave Aiden his hot cocoa
Aiden reluctantly let go of his boyfriend and grabbed the mug, the sweet and warm chocolate scent warmed him enough, and tasting it was even better, James can't help but admire lovingly his boyfriend sipping his hot cocoa
When they finished, Aiden praised and teased him "Aww babe, that was delicious, I'm surprised you didn't blow out the kitchen this time"
James answered sarcastically but still smiled "Yeah yeah, very funny baby"
After that, they immediately grabbed a big blanket, covering it over them as they cuddled together on the couch. Aiden returned to wrapping his arms around James and the latter practically did the same thing
They didn’t talk much, just enjoying the closeness and the simple warmth of being together. At one point, Aiden's hand found its way to James', their fingers intertwining under the blanket. He then sit between his boyfriend's legs, letting out a calm sigh, completely at ease with him
"Thanks for keeping me warm babe" Aiden whispered
James looked down, pressing a little kiss on his forehead "Of course Baby, anything for my little sunshine"
They stayed that way, wrapped up in each other, they didn't care about the world right now, what truly mattered there, was the two of them in each other's embrace and completely in peace, and last thing James remembered was Aiden sleeping on his chest, completely serene, He leaned to kiss the top of his boyfriend's head whispering "I love you my baby Aiden, And I always will"
