20 Years Later
"Morning" Lucy spoke to her teacher, while holding up a paper in excitement "Yes! I knew NASA would take you" He grabs the paper and congratulates her
"What'd your parents say?" He looked at her for a second before realizing "You didn't tell them"
Lucy sighs running her hand down her face "Mr. Fleming, I can't tell them today of all days"
"Uh, your sisters... uh, we're my students. This day can't be easy for you" he spoke to her gently
"I didn't even know them. Besides, there's no way my parents will let me go to DC for three months. They barely let me out of the house after dark or let me have a doorknob" she understood where they were coming from , but she wasn't her sisters
"Oh, come on. They might surprise you. I understand how they would feel but NASA is a one time opportunity" he explains to her
Lucy walks towards the animal "How long has Mr. Pickles been in this box?" She asked him trying to change the subject
He thinks back to when he got mrs pickles "Let me think....Twenty years?" He says
"I feel your pain, Pickles" she taps on the glass trying to get his attention
"Hey, Lucy...Lucy, Lucy, don't let your life just happen to you. Take control of your future" He tells her
" It's hard to take control of your future when your past is still haunting you" She looks down sadly and waves goodbye to him
Lucy walks down the hallway going straight for her locker "Four kids m*rder*d in three nights,and they never even caught the guy" she hears a girl whispering to her friend
"Yeah, it was just like a horror movie. We should seriously start a podcast" the other girl spoke while showing her friend the photos of the crime scene
"I don't know. They're never gonna find the k*ller. It's been 20 years" Lucy starts to feel uncomfortable listening in on their conversation
"Wait, how did they die again?Didn't one get k*lled at the old Marine Museum?" One of the girls says
" Do you remember that one girl Winter Fields, she hanged herself in her sister's room after her death" she mutters quietly but Lucy heard her
Her heart dropped to her stomach "Yikes" the girl says to her friend while walking away
Lucy slams her locker shut and walks away angrily. She hated when people spoke about her sister, she was still upset her sister took her life. Her parents were never the same after that
