This month marks two years since I first began publishing chapters of this book and now we've finally reached the end.
A book worth 12 hours took me 2 years to write. That is a huge milestone for me.
I cannot even express how exhilarating it was to mark my very first completed book with the 'Complete' button. My goal was to reach 50k reads by the time I finish MMYV and we did it — all thanks to your incredible support and encouragement.
Throughout this journey, there were many plot twists, I have to agree, but my ultimate aim was to bring every bit of the plot for the final reveal of how the main and the second lead were actually the same person. Because here's the thing;
Love triangles always leave me with a bad case of second lead syndrome. I was on a mission to mend the hearts of all fellow sufferers through Make Me Your Villain. And hence why, we all deserved a clear happy ending.
Fun fact: The original plot was much simpler. Shazain was supposed to contact Hayat through the phone, while Sameer would interact with her in person. But when some of you began suspecting they were the same person (how did you even come to that conclusion?), I decided to shake things up by adding new scenes that weren't in the original draft. It only made the storyline more intriguing for me.
Writing this book has been a memorable experience. I still remember the cold, wintery nights alone in the living room, lying on the couch and typing away on my old phone. I'm getting nostalgic, no joke. The journey from the first upload to this final one will always have a special place in my heart.
So, what's next?
Honestly, I'm not sure. I have so many storylines that I wish I could magically turn into completed books. My ideas always seem perfect in my head, although bringing them to life is another challenge.
But anyhow! Thank you for staying with me on this journey and for supporting me to the very end.
Until next time. Take care, my wattyfam! <3
