When filled with a racing mind, It's best to allow yourself to use your breathing to calm your mind.
This can be achieved by finding yourself in a quiet room, taking in the environment around you and being present in the environment in peace.
Taking deep breaths until your mind is fully calmed, with this practice you can begin to move into a higher state of focus (referred to as samadhi) realising maybe the problem you've been stressing over is just a problem and not as big as it seems.
I believe we could all learn how to do this, by training your diaphragm (the muscle used in breathing) cutting out negative habits like smoking, drinking and unhealthy diets to become more healthy allowing your body to have a more open airway to breathe through.
So to end this, try doing this step by step first with your lifestyle. Try this form of meditation practice and see what stage of focus you can achieve. Then maybe you can beat your overthinking problems.
