Chapter 1

Staring down at the picture in my hand, a sad smile crept up its way on my face.

My Sol. Its going to be Sunday tomorrow, a moment with you, a moment with Him.

“Chas, the guys and I are going out for drinks, wanna come with?” I look up to see Matthias, one of my close friends and colleague.

I smiled apologetically. “I'm sorry, Bud. I have to go home early so I can prepare for tomorrow.” He looked at me and understood my reason, he leave me be and went out with everybody.

Are you proud of me, Sol? I have no vices anymore, I'm clean now! 

I smiled thinking about her again. I remember the first time we met, it was at a school event back in highschool.

“GO! GO! GO! MIGHTY EAGLES! GO! MIGHTY EAGLES!” Clamours from different people echoed inside the stadium. Excitement from the people filled the stadium, its very refreshing to feel this lively mood from people.

“PINK PANTHERS! PINK PANTHERS! GO PINK PANTHERS! GO! GO! GO PINK PANTHERS! BE FIERCE! BE BOLD! GOO PANTHERS!” But even though I was enjoying, I was starting to get irritated by the loudness of these people and so I excused myself to get away from the noise.

As I was walking out of the stadium, I bumb into someone. I felt a hot pain on my chest and a little girl's yelp in pain. 

“Soléne, are you alright, babe?” Matthias came out from the crowd and went near the girl. I look confused when he came to check the girl. “I thought your girl is Kathlen?” 

Matthias spoke without looking at me. “Kathlen is my girl, and Solène here is her best friend.” I was enlighten now. So she's the best friend. “I'm sorry, Solène, I wasn't looking at my way.” I apologize and went near them to check her. 

I felt the world stop moving when I saw this girl's face. Her name really suits her, it's beautiful like her. No, wait, she's more beautiful than that, she's…perfect.

I feel myself hold my own breath when she looks at me. She timidly smiles, “it's alright, I wasn't looking as well, I'm sorry.” She reaches her hand out. “I'm Solène by the way, pleased to meet you!” I shake her hand and I see her raise her brows at me. “Oh uhm Chastielle Devios Kenth Velasquez, honoured to meet you, Ms. Solène.” I said and that made her giggle.

“You don't have to be so formal with me, Chastielle.” She says. I smiled. “Alright then. Oh would you like to join us later? Our friends are hosting a party for whoever the winner is in the game, you're free to come and join us if you want.” I offered to her. She smiles and shakes her head. “I'm sorry but I have plans tonight, I have to study on Saturday because I can't in Sunday.” She said with an apologetic look on her face.

I frowned—confused that for what she's preparing for Sunday. “Sunday? You going somewhere?” She laughs, amused of what I asked. “No, it's my day of worship. I gotta give time for Him.” She says smiling—ear to ear. As I was enlighten, it sounds nice that she's a religious person, she does look like an angel. 

Without any moment to spare, she said her good bye and left us. I couldn't help my self but stare at her trail off to somewhere. I felt a nudge on my side and look to face my friend. I look at him confused.

“What?” I asked him directly. He stared at me. “Don't even think about it, Velasquez. Go for anyone or everyone else but not Solène, don't ruin her like the others.” My friend says to me. I just laughed and shake my head.

“I don't know what you're talking about, Bud.” I say to him and was about to leave but he blocked me with his body—with a serious face, he look at me dead in the eyes. “If you ever attempt on hitting on Sol, I swear that I'll forget about us being friends and beat you up until nobody recognizes you, Velasquez.” He threatened me. And without flinching, I smirked and returned the death stare. “I'll gladly take that beating then.” I said and left.
