I was in the jeep going towards my maybe death. But this feeling doesn't bother me anymore as this was not as scary as the first month in the war as I already had been sent to war many times but all the time, I had returned alive. I reached the no man's land with my 8 other teammates to stop the invasion of China's. Our goal was really simple, Build trenches on the northern front 200 km from the border to recieve the attacks of Chinese. But I had a strange feeling of this mission to fail, but anyway without complaining we started to dig out webs of trenches and placed land mines. We did this for 5 days straight without any trouble. But on the morning of 6th day, we found all the basic commodities was soaking wet, this included our food, water, bullets and clothes in contaminated water. We reported this to the cheif through a walkie talkie. Then after a warning to be sent to the direct Chinese trenches(not less than a suicide mission), we got the supplies from the main camp. We did the same thing for next 4 days after which we got a SOS message from the radio that Chinese Army suddenly started invading with 10 times the speed as they are also attacked by USA through air. So we got to know that over 2500 soldiers are coming through planes and trucks to our digged trenches to defend. And this is going to be literal graveyard in less than 48 hours. The soldiers came singing motivational songs to get courage. They all checked their weapons, grenades and bullets. We all didn't even realised how the next 48 hours went by. And the doom's day came. At 5 A.M, All the soldiers were lined up in the trenches pointing out the guns to the fog, ready to shoot almost anything moving. Even a bird was seen in distant, 3 to 4 soldiers shot it down as it is a clever techinique to send a robotic camera attached bird to scan the positions of soldiers. We all stood there for more than 2 hours. At around 7.40 A.M. A big blast sound was heard and we all told everyone to prepare as it was sound of the landmines we planted. Everyone was sunk in overconfidence as everyone thinks they are the main character of their story, this case is more with soldiers as they are being deployed in wars and as they survivie one after other wars, the self confidence in themselves increase thinking as they are alive till now so that means that they are something. This all illusion fades gradually as the bleeding blood after getting shot. Around 8 A.M, the scout shouted ''China'' at top of his lungs, everyone saw shadows of helmet through the fog, one by one aiming and shooting their rifles. Fire also came from their side injurying some men. I was in the dress room when I heard these gunshots. I picked up my rifle and ran toward the trenches yelling with the overflow of adernaline in my blood. I crouched in the trench and aimed at a Chinese soldier and as I pulled the trigger of my gun, a thought ran through my brain saying that, he is also a man like you, he also has a family, maybe kids, he is also a living creature with a beating heart. He also don't like wars like you but is forced to due to the higher authorities. But somehow I managed to overcome this feeling and pulled the trigger, I didn't notice where the bullet hit him. I just saw he fell to the ground. At that a time, out in the distant fog, I noticed a flash. I knew it aimed for me, just a gut feeling. So, I jumped to duck, but it was too late. A piece of metal came flying to my shoulder and I fell inside the trench I dug out. I was lying there for more than 6 hours, screaming in pain. Luckily, we won that war and I was taken to the medical room in that trench. There I heard the commander yelling at us. It was very muffled sound due to my pain. But slowly the voice was getting louder and louder. And after many tries, I heard....................................................
