Introduction

Beatris Diaz had loved her best friend from the day the pair could speak one another's names. Her father travelled across the world for his work, and she followed with him. That was how she met Ethan Wells in his early karting years.

Now in their twenties, Beatris and Ethan kept their promise to always stay friends no matter what. Beatris works in the media for Formula One, and Ethan is one of the best drivers in the league, driving for the famed Badolato team.

But the pair harbour a secret that is slowly killing their friendship. Beatris, during the off season, confessed her undying love for her best friend who apologised but told her he didn't feel the same way about her. They kept their lives separate for the rest of the off season, then came back together to act as if nothing happened.

Ethan swore he could never love the girl who he watched face plant a street lamp when they were 16 because he made her laugh so much that sorbet was coming out of her nose. But the more he sees her in the paddock flaunting her new friendships with other racers around, he can't help but wonder what could have been.

This book stemmed from my love of all things angst, and friends turned semi enemies turned lovers. I almost want this not to be a HEA, but I it wouldn't be me if I didn't write HEA.

The series this book, and my other Formula 1 books are in, is called Chasing Lines, and I have so many stories, couples, and exciting things to show you. I hope you guys enjoy the books as much as I do!

Additional note: Unlike what I did with Sick Like Me, I may write the whole series before I self publish them. I may even write a few of the Chasing Lines books at once, so long as the timelines are matching as of me writing the stories. This is not set in stone, just something I am considering.
