When Keyanna arrived at the bookstore to meet up with Detective Sinclair she was expecting to have this meet up inside of a coffee shop like they did on the crime shows she watched.
"Hey, how are you?" Detective Sinclair got up from where she was sitting to greet Keyanna.
"I'm fine and you ?" Keyanna replied.
"I'm okay." She said. "I'm glad that you called me."
"Yeah me too." Keyanna sighed. "You like reading?"
"Yes, I love reading and you ?" Detective Sinclair asked.
"Yes, I love reading those romance novels." Keyanna smiled. "I just love them, you heard of the book Seven Days in June?"
"Yes, I love that book." She said.
Keyanna took a seat. "I uh... I just felt like I needed someone to talk too. You know. It's just a lot since they found me in my car." Shaking her head.
"I can only imagine." Detective Sinclair said. "How are you?"
Keyanna sighed, "If we are being honest I'm scared."
"I understand." Detective Sinclair sat next to Keyanna. "You can talk to me."
Detective Sinclair remembered when Keyanna was just a baby. Holding her in her arms and that is the only memory that she had of Keyanna. Her baby sister was in front of her and over the years she always thought about her. Right now was the time to be there for her baby sister.
Keyanna tried to stop herself from crying but it was too late. Tears were already rolling down her cheeks. "I'm sorry, it's just so much. It's like when I close my eyes it's hard to fall asleep."
"Do you know who did this to you?" Detective Sinclair grabbed both of her hands. "I understand that you are scared and you claimed you don't remember. I know that you know who did this to you."
"Detective Sinclair please, if I tell you this then you have to promise me that you're not going to do anything." Keyanna sniffed.
"You can call me Bonnie and I promise I'm not going to say anything." They held hands.
"It was my ex-girlfriend. She tried to kill me and I don't know why." Shaking her head.
"Okay, do you know her last name?" Bonnie asked.
"Asia Jones." Keyanna replied.
"Why does that name sound so familiar?" Bonnie questioned.
She started to think about her case that she had did back in the day where a girl's parents were murdered. She started to type her name on her phone. "Is this her?"
"Yes," Keyanna said. "You know her?"
"Yea I know her. Her parents were killed five years ago we never solved the case because I went under cover and it just everything went wrong." Bonnie shook her head recalling the incident. "Her real name is Clare Harris not Asia. After the case she changed her name. I still believe she had something to do with the murder. If she tried to kill you like you said she did I believe you."
"So if you don't mind tell me this story about Asia Clare whatever the girl name is." Keyanna was so curious to know about Asia's past.
"Well it's a long ass story and I need to tell the story over a drink. If you don't mind we can go somewhere more private." Bonnie said.
"Yeah that's fine." Keyanna said.
They left out of the bookstore and climbed inside of Bonnie's car. "I guess I can start telling you the story now. Just so you know this became one of the biggest cases of my career."
