"Stop nosing at that." Jeonghan pulled his yarn away from Ferdy's snout, glaring at the puppy. The little mutt kept thinking Jeonghan's crochet supplies were some sort of dog toy in disguise. Jeonghan was almost done with this top, and if Joshua's pet ruined it, Jeonghan was going to be forced to commit doggy murder, and then Joshua would be mad at him, and then Seokmin would murder Jeonghan for upsetting Joshua, and it would all just be one terrible mess.
He considered flashing his fangs for additional deterrence, but he'd already learned the puppy was completely unfazed by any of them going full vamp in front of him.
It turned out humans were much easier to intimidate than dogs.
"Shoo." Jeonghan motioned with his free hand. "Go find your daddy."
"Am I the mutt's daddy?" Jeonghan glanced up to see Seokmin leaning against the doorway, looking much too amused at the scene in front of him for Jeonghan's taste.
"No," Jeonghan replied, narrowing his eyes at his longtime friend. "Joshua's Daddy. You're Papa. Much more suitable for your advanced age." He grinned broadly at the annoyed look on Seokmin's face.
"You are older than I," Seokmin argued.
"Yes, but I look younger, and that's what counts."
"Ridiculous," Seokmin sighed, his expression pinched—a familiar sight where Jeonghan was concerned.
"You two heading out soon?" Jeonghan asked cheerily, ignoring his friend's displeasure. Seokmin would get over it in two seconds. He was used to Jeonghan's ways.
"When Joshua returns from the care home," Seokmin answered, tucking his hands into his pants pockets. Jeonghan eyed the other vampire's outfit skeptically. Why anyone would want to wear a full suit for an entire day on an airplane was anyone's guess.
He shrugged internally. To each his own. "Well, have a blast. Bring me back lots of souvenirs. I want something pretty. Or delicious. I'll accept either. Or both."
Seokmin hummed noncommittally, eyeing Jeonghan with a weirdly intense look. It made Jeonghan's skin itch.
"Three weeks with my mate all to myself," Seokmin finally said after another long minute of staring.
Jeonghan hummed, clacking his crochet needles. He wasn't entirely sure whether Seokmin's words were meant to be a pointed statement. Jeonghan had been living in the same house as the two lovebirds for over a year now. He did his best to stay out of their way, and neither gave any indication they wanted him to leave, but maybe Seokmin was trying to casually meander his way into a verbal eviction.
"All right...," Jeonghan drawled when Seokmin didn't elaborate. "Are you about to start telling me your horny honeymoon daydreams? Because I'd rather not. No offense."
Jeonghan had already overheard enough of those two going at it to last a million lifetimes.
Seokmin shook his head. "I would be very...upset...if a lack of control over things at home were to distract Joshua from this honeymoon," he said, his voice staying deceptively mild. "I want his full...attention."
Christ. Seokmin really was a possessive beast.
Although Jeonghan couldn't really blame him. Seokmin had been lonely for a very, very long time, and Joshua had been his surprise salvation. Not to mention his destined mate, the tether to his humanity.
Lucky bastard.
Not every vampire found their fated mate, the one whose soul would bond to theirs, preventing them from devolving into a feral state. And what if the one they did find didn't like them one bit? That was a dilemma Jeonghan was very...invested in...at the moment.
