The manor was quiet, save for the soft crackling of a fire in the drawing room. Lucinda Singh sat on a velvet armchair, her fingers absentmindedly tracing over the handle of an ornate silver dagger--a gift from her mother, Adele Singh. There was a certain calmness to her expression, her dark eyes watching the fire flicker, but anyone who knew Lucinda would recognize that behind that sweet facade lay something dangerous. Lucinda Singh was not someone to be trifled with.

The Singh family had always been known in magical circles, though perhaps not in the most conventional sense. They hailed from a lineage of dark magic and ancient secrets that made even the most powerful wizards think twice before crossing them. Lucinda's mother, Adele, was as ruthless as she was beautiful, known for her skill in spells that even most aurors feared to use and they feared her ability to control the minds and feelings of anyone she desired.

Her father, Silas, was a master of defensive enchantments, a quiet but powerful figure who knew far more than he ever said and he could control and harness the darkness of the world. He had been born a werewolf as both of his parents had been werewolves. Her aunt, Periwinkle Singh, was an expert in potions, feared for her deadly concoctions and her ability to produce and manipulate snow and ice. And her uncle Felix was an alchemist of rare skill, he could fly and teleport. Together, the family was feared and respected.

For the past three years, Lucinda had attended the Circe Academy, a notorious school of dark magic. It was more of a training ground for those of her blood, those born into power and mystery. She had thrived there, honing her abilities, learning spells and curses that most wizards twice her age would never dare attempt. But then, one summer morning, everything changed.

"Lucinda!" her mother called, her voice carrying a lilt of excitement and pride that Lucinda rarely heard.

Lucinda looked up just as her mother strode into the room, holding an elegant parchment envelope with an official red seal. It bore thememblem of a large "H" surrounded by animals -a lion, a snake, a badger, and an eagle.

Lucinda's heart skipped a beat. Though she had been raised in the mysteries of the Circe Academy, the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was legendary. Adele handed the letter to Lucinda with a gleam in her eyes. "You've been accepted, my dear. Hogwarts wants you to join for your fourth year." "Interesting," Lucinda murmured, breaking the seal and unfolding the letter. She scanned the neat script

Dear Miss Lucinda Singh,

Lucinda's lips curved into a slight smile, the kind that others often feared. It was a smile that could be sweet or dangerous, depending on who it was directed at. "Well, that's rather unexpected," she said softly, her eyes glinting with a mix of intrigue and challenge. Lucinda had always been taught to value power, and Hogwarts, with its reputation and influence, had a certain appeal.

Her father, Silas, entered the room, havingheard the news. His gaze was proud, and his voice was as measured and quiet as always. "You'll be a force they haven't seen before," he said, touching her shoulder with a rare gesture of affection. Her aunt Periwinkle appeared beside him, practically beaming. "Oh, Hogwarts! How delightful. I can only imagine what they'll think of you there." Her uncle Felix followed with a grin, a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. "They're in for a surprise, he said, chuckling. "Hogwarts doesn't often accept students with your.. unique skills."

Lucinda looked around at her family, each of whom had contributed something to her training and power. Her mother had taught her precision and ruthlessness, her father had instilled in her the importance of control, her aunt had passed on the deadly art of potion-making, and her uncle had shown her the secrets of ancient alchemy. And now, Hogwarts would be her new ground. "It will be.... interesting," she replied, her voice low. Lucinda wasn't one for grand displays, but the thought of meeting others her age, especially those from more conventional backgrounds, piqued her curiosity. Especially a boy like Harry Potter. She had heard about him-the Boy Who Lived, a hero of sorts. Hogwarts was bound to be a place full of strange and fascinating people.

Especially because Lucinda's unique set of powers and abilities acted as the cherry on top of a wonderful ice cream sundae which reflected her family's power and status. She never had any true friends, maybe a few acquaintances that were the children of her parents' friends. But she never had someone to call her best friend. Maybe Hogwarts would change that.

She felt a twinge of excitement, but it was tempered by the same steely calm she always carried. She would show Hogwarts just what the Singh family was capable of. They would see her power, her precision-and her sweet, but deadly, smile. "Very well," her mother said with finality. "Tomorrow, we'Il go to Diagon Alley to get you ready. You'll need robes, books, and perhaps a few... special supplies." Adele's smile was knowing, her eyes glinting. As the family discussed the details of her upcoming school supplies, Lucinda simply watched the fire, her mind drifting to the school and the new challenges it would bring. In her own way, she felt anticipation stirring inside her. And so, with the letter in her hand, Lucinda prepared for her journey to Hogwarts. They hadn't seen a witch quite like her before-but they would soon enough.
