The Family

We see Neci activating a portal to Dr. Hipstress’s office in Jazz City and see Michael and John with Ladpire and Gertrude. 

“Remember to text me when your appointment is over.” Neci says as she holds her staff, “Hope it goes well.” She taps her staff and the portal closes and Michael adjusts his hat while John fixes his tie. 

“A bit overdressed ain’t ya?”Ladpire asks, looking at them in her black dress and white sneakers, then Gertrude lightly tugs at Ladpire then speaks. “Come on, hun. It’s our first vacation! It’s unfortunate our daughter will be late. She deserves a break too. Along with Kinny and Lynn! We should-” 

Suddenly, the door opens and Beatrix is surprised by the group and as she laughs says, “Well… Quite the party here!  Are you all here to see my husband today?”. 

Ladpire clears her throat and speaks in a seemingly serious tone, “Yes, Madame Hipstress. We wish to speak-”. Suddenly, Gertrude interrupts her, “No! No! No! You need to be more dramatic!” She wears a semi casual suit with a sunhat. With the way of her hand and dramatic bow, Beatrix says, “How do you do, my lady? How would we have to interest you on this day?”. 

Beatrix tries to hold back a laugh in trying to be polite and Ladpire tries to copy Gertrude, only causing Beatrix to laugh out loud. Ladpire stands up adjusting her dress and speaks normally saying,” I don’t know how do you do this, Gertrude. This over politeness seems unnecessary. But, anyway… Greetings, Beatrix. Yes, we are all here to see your husband. And, it might be out last before our vacation.” 

“Oh?” Beatrix says in a surprised tone.” You’re going on vacation? Where to, may I ask?” as she tries to collect herself she welcomes them to enter. “Well…”Ladpire speaks as they enter and Beatrix closes the door behind her, “Michael has offered us to spend sometime here in Jazz City. He has even offered to pay for the nicest place we can go to. Though he suggested it, he’s actually nervous.”. 

“Cause there’s gonna be slow dancing, “Mike says as he fidgets a lil,”I hate slow dancing! It’s so… boring compared to the high intensity of swing dancing.” John holds on him as he speaks, “But, then we can have some close time together. You and me on the dance floor.”. Beatrix smiles then Chaz opens his office door looking a bit surprised at the group. 

“Oh!” Chaz says while holding some notes.” I didn’t expected you both to be here today! Are you both here for a session? Is something wrong?”. Beatrix is about to speak but then Gertrude yells excellently, “We’re going on vacation, Doctor! Woo! I’m pumped!”. Chaz slightly adjusts his glasses as he speaks, feeling a lil surprised. “A vacation? Where will you be going to? I hope its not too stressful for you, John. Or you Ladpire.”. John shows Chaz a flyer of a Jazz Club described as a cozy night club with drinks and fine dining and live music performances. Chaz looks over the flyer then looks at John, “You sure you’ll be ok with this, John? There will be lots of people.”

“It’ll be ok, Chaz.“ John says as he is given back the flyer, “Michael was able to get us a special seat for us. So, we won’t be bothered. But, the funny thing is, Chaz, I think I’ll look forward to the… dancing.”.

John blushes and laughs as Michael gives a reluctant grunt, which gets Chaz’s attention, and Beatrix softly says, “He hates slow dancing. Sounds like it’ll have a dance time for couples.”. “Ah…”Chaz says, “Well, as long you have a good time. Correct, Michael?”. Mike gives a deep sigh before speaking, ”Yeah…I guess… And, I guess as long it makes John happy.”. He lightly ruffles John’s hair and laughs.

“Well…”Chaz says as he opens his office door, “Does this mean this is the last time you’ll see me?”.

John nervously speaks,”Y-yes, Chaz. Though it wasn’t originally why I came to see you, you did help me open up a bit more. And, it help me find someone I could love and trust. And… now I feel like I have a family. I still don’t know if I’m gay or not. But, I love Michael regardless.”. They look at each other and kiss. Beatrix claps happily then speaks, “Well, I’m happy for you. For all of you. Just to ask, will Neci be with you, too?”.

“She said, she’ll come later.”Ladpire says “She told us to go on ahead. She’ll meet up after she visits you. Probably for the last time.”.

“Well…”Chaz says,” I don’t want to keep you from your vacation. You all have a good time.” They all wave good bye as Mike texts, ”We’re leaving for the club now, Neci. Catch ya later.”.

Michael then calls Dean to pick them up. As he makes the call, he and company leave out the door, as a green portal appears in his lobby. Neci, Kinny, and Lynn walk through. Chaz is taken by surprised and stumbles to find his words.

“Really?” Kinny says with a kind but mildly authoritative tone, “You easily talk to my family, like my daughter and her mother, yet, you’re nervous around me?”.

“Well... ”Chaz lightly rubs his neck as he speaks, “Would it be weird to say that it feels… different? Also, I was expecting just Neci to show up for our last appointment. But, what can I do for you, your highness?”. Neci walks to Chaz and holding her staff she stares at him for a few long seconds. Then she breaks down crying. She falls to her knees and Chaz quickly moves to her and asks her, “Are you ok, Neci? Why are you crying?”. He then notices her eyes have turned to a mint green color with green steam.

“Interesting…” he says as he looks at her, “Is this how a vampire shows joy?”. Neci slowly nods and tries to speak,”Y-yes… I’m just so overjoyed! You helped me and my Mother Ladpire so much! We are now a family again!”.

She hugs onto Chaz and he, though at first surprised, gives hugs in return. “I’m glad for you, Neci. I’m glad I could help. But, why are your parents here?”.

Kinny speaks, “We wish to thank you for what you have done for us. If there’s anyway we can repay you, you have my word.”. Chaz just smiles and shakes his head as he speaks, “No, You highness. Apart from payment fees, there’s no greater gift then knowing I have made clients happy. But, if there’s anyone that is in need of my serves, don’t hesitate to call.”

After Neci dries her tears, she gets up with Kinny and Lynn.  With an arm over their chests, all three bow to Chaz and Beatrix. Beatrix curtsies while Chaz bows. Neci opens a portal to meet up with the others. While Kinny and Lynn  open their own portal to leave for home, and as they enter, it closes. Suddenly, Chaz gets a call on his cellphone.
