Ever since then, Shane and Sakura have always seen together no matter where they go and the only time they separated was when they headed into the bathroom. Shane always made sure that Sakura would be far away from other people to prevent him from hearing the insults that were always said by the people that they passed through, Sakura heard about some nasty rumors spreading about Shane and he didn't like it.

"Do you know that there have been rumors going around about you?" Sakura asked Shane when they arrived at their special place underneath the Sakura tree where they went to eat lunch.

"Yeah," Shane replied as she looked at him and realized where this conversation was going.

"Haru, I'm going to be fine. I'm not letting those people get to me when I am having fun with you" Shane reassured him as Haruka let out a sigh.

"If you say so. But if you know that you cannot take it, you do know what to do" Shane's fist clenched as she knew what Sakura was thinking right now.

"I'm not going to leave you! You are stuck with me forever Haru!" Shane exclaimed making Sakura look at her confused.

"Ha? What are you on about?" He asked as Shane looked at him with tears slowly dripping from her eyes making Sakura panic.

"W- What's wrong? Why are you crying?!" Sakura exclaimed not knowing what to do and what did he do to make his first-ever friend cry.

"Do you remember saving a young girl a year ago?" Shane asked as Sakura paused and tilted his head.

"Uh yeah, It was during a trip to that town in Yadochi" Sakura replied as Shane looked at him and then brought out something.

"That girl was very thankful to you. Ever since then, she started looking all over for you to officially thank you." Shane said as she let Sakura see a familiar handkerchief making Sakura's eyes widen and look at Shane in the eye.

"After seeing how other people treated him she decided that she would be his one and only friend not because it is a way to pay a debt but more because she wanted to let him know he was important. He is important to the people who he lend a hand to." Shane ended as Sakura just remained shocked.

"Y-You were that girl back then," Sakura said as Shane nodded.

"Yes, that's why I don't really care what people say about you because I know you have a kind heart" Shane stated with a huge grin.

Sakura can't help but feel warm at her words making a small smile appear on his face and Shane can't help but blush at how a single expression could make the boy more attractive than he already is and unfortunately, Sakura noticed her reaction.

"What's wrong?" Sakura asked as Shane frantically shook her head.

"I-It's nothing! Just remember to smile often... it looks good on you" Shane replied and mumbled the last sentence as Sakura blinked and just shrugged.

"N-Now we should eat lunch. You don't have anything with you" Shane looked at him with a skeptical face.

"I-I woke up late and forgot to cook something for myself," Sakura said embarrassed as Shane laughed softly.

"Then I guess I made the right decision to make two bentos!" Shane happily said making Sakura confused as she brought out her bento alongside another one and stretched it towards Sakura.

"Here you go! Make sure to eat your fill!" Shane exclaimed making Sakura shocked.

"W-What?!" Sakura exclaimed as Shane grinned.

"Come on! I want to have your opinion on my cooking skills since I just feel that my foster parents are just lying to me just to make me happy" Shane said as Sakura looked between her and the bento before accepting the bento with a blush.
