Summer's p.o.v.
"What have you done to him!?!" I shouted at the mermaid. She smiled evilly, showing off long white fangs.
"Oh, I didn't do anything, just brought him down here to you." The mermaid said with a velvety voice. My hand twitched with my ring on it.
"Is he even alive?!?" I shouted. I casually pulled off my ring, and slid it in my hand. I started thinking about my spear. My hand was shaking in rage.
"Oh, that's anybody's guess." She said.
"I won't have to guess with you!" I screamed, and the ring grew in my hand to a spear. I charged towards her, my spear aimed for her heart. I switched the poison to kill.
The mermaid seemed a little taken aback that I charged her, but quickly recovered. She held up chase in front of her, using him as a human shield.
I skidded stop, just in front of Chase. I reached out and grabbed his shoulder, and tried to push him away front the mermaid. She held him in his steely grip.
As soon as I touched him, I saw his eyelids flutter. He's alive?
I noticed an open spot on the mermaid, not covered by Chase, and lunged for it with the spear. She dodged out of the way. I kicked out with my feet, trying to kick the mermaid tail, My foot connected and I heard her go oof.
I realized then that my spear was to slow, with all the extra prongs on it, I needed another weapon. I jumped back, and started thinking of a new weapon.
The spear shrank down to a knife. It was sharp on both sides, like a miniature sword.
The mermaids eyes widened. I ran forward and charged, faking a stab to the left. She moved Chase over to the left, while I slashed out with the knife as I ran by, cutting her her side, just over her tail.
She screamed in pain. She wipped around to face me, but I was running along her other side, slashing down, cutting her from basically her arm pit down.
She turned around to face me, her eyes full of rage and pain.
"I've had enough of fooling around with you Summer!" The mermaid through down Chase, landing lifeless on the ground.
"Chase!" I screamed. I ran towards him, and picked his head up in my hands. His eyelids fluttered open again.
"Are you ok? What did she do to you?" He opened his mouth, but all that came out was a bubble.
"Air you need air!" I scooped him up, bride style, and started kicking my legs frantically. We started to move up slowly, moving inches at a time.
Something sharp touched my back.
"Stop right there." I recognized the mermaids voice. I stopped. The point of a spear was digging into my back.
"What do you want?" I said.
"Your life!" She snarled. I felt the spear come off my back while she got ready to strike for the death blow. I still had my knife in my hand, (not cutting Chase) and I focused on a shield. The knife turned into a handle and shield in half a second.
I held Chase with one hand, then flung the shield behind me and cowered behind it.
Something heavy hit the shield.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the spear was stuck in the shield, the mermaid viscously trying to tug it out.
I focused on a long sword, and felt the shield get lighter in my hands. The mermaid flew back, landing on her butt.
