I scrolled through my Facebook feed, idly tapping through posts until one stopped me dead in my tracks. NewJeans was coming to perform at our university!

My heart skipped a beat as I saw the official announcement post. There was even a picture of them smiling brightly, and right there, front and center, was Hanni. My Hanni. Well, not my Hanni, but she was my bias, and to be honest, I had the biggest crush on her.

I could barely contain my excitement, gripping my phone tightly as I reread the post just to make sure I hadn't imagined it.

"Oh my God," I muttered, biting my lip as I tried to stifle a squeal. I had to tell someone, and I knew just the person.

Without thinking twice, I dialed my best friend's number, my fellow Tokki-in-crime.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Hello, Ji-a! Have you heard? NewJeans is coming to school on Friday!"

There was a gasp on the other end. "Yes! I was literally about to call you! Can you believe it? Finally, I'll have a chance to be noticed by Minji!" Ji-a squealed, already sounding just as ecstatic as I felt.

I chuckled, her excitement contagious. "All I can think about is Hanni, honestly," I admitted, my cheeks flushing slightly. "I mean, you know how much I admire her... she's just so talented and adorable."

"Yah, Y/N," Ji-a teased, laughing. "Don't get any ideas! But I get it. Hanni's your bias for a reason."

"Yeah, yeah, like you're not planning to do the same with Minji," I teased back, picturing her rolling her eyes on the other end. She'd been talking about wanting Minji to notice her forever, so I knew she'd pull out all the stops to make that happen.

"Oh, trust me, I am ready for that eye contact moment. But make sure you bring your Binky Bong too! Let's go all out. This is our moment!"

I grinned, imagining us in the crowd, waving our Binky Bongs and screaming along to every song. Just the thought of being in the same place as Hanni made my heart race.

There was something thrilling about knowing I'd finally see her in real life.

DDay

I barely slept the night before, too excited and too busy planning every detail of my outfit. I wanted to look good, but not like I was trying too hard—just enough to catch Hanni's eye if luck was on my side.

Ji-a and I met up outside the school, our Binky Bongs glowing brightly, signaling that we were fully embracing our Tokki status. I had on a black jacket over my favorite white oversized t-shirt, feeling effortlessly cool.

I grinned as Ji-a pulled a banner out of her bag. In huge, bold letters, it read: "MINJI, MARRY ME PLEASE!" complete with little hearts and stars around it. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Ji-a, are you serious?" I asked, covering my mouth as I chuckled. "You're going to scare Minji with that!"

She just shrugged, totally unbothered. "Hey, go big or go home. Besides, if it gets her attention, mission accomplished!"

I shook my head, trying not to laugh too hard as I reached into my bag to pull out my own banner.

It wasn't nearly as flashy as hers, but it had a simple message I'd spent way too long thinking about: "Hanni, please keep on smiling!"

Ji-a took one look at it and burst into laughter. "Y/N, that's so corny!" she teased, nudging me.

"Well, I didn't know what else to put," I admitted, feeling my cheeks heat up. "I didn't want her to think I'm a total weirdo, unlike someone I know."
