Cast Introduction

||FANTASIA BARRINO, 28

- Fantasia is the kindergarten music teacher at West Adams Elementary School in Los Angeles, California. The Cancer woman is adored by the students and greatly admired by her coworkers. Her passion for tapping into and expanding the creativity of young minds makes her not only an amazing teacher, but a mentor and confidant for the children. She's everybody's favorite teacher. As stable and fulfilling as her work life is, her personal life is the complete opposite. She pours so much of her energy and affection into the children she teaches that she doesn't have any left for a healthy relationship. However, she hates the thought of being alone. She wears her heart on her sleeve and bares her soul to the people closest to her without hesitation, but she's been hiding a secret all of her life that she feels like she could never open up to anybody about. She was born intersex. She's deeply ashamed of her anatomy, and because of that, every relationship she's ever been in has failed due to her fear of sexual intimacy. She doesn't love herself the way that she is, so she believes that nobody else will love her the way she is, either. She lives in a townhouse apartment, splitting the rent with her roommate, best friend since graduate school, and coworker, Taraji.

||TARAJI P. HENSON, 31

- Taraji is the kindergarten science teacher at West Adams Elementary School in Los Angeles, California. The Virgo woman is a highly ambitious perfectionist and she pushes her students to academically perform above the district curriculum, but she does everything she can to make learning fun for the kids. She's always coming up with educational yet enjoyable and innovative projects and activities for the children to engage in. Like Fantasia, she is especially loved and favored by the students. On the other hand, her fiery and blunt approach to conversations and conflict makes it hard for her to bond with her peers outside of work. However, Fantasia is her best friend and roommate, so she honestly doesn't care to make anymore work friends. She loves the fact that she gets to see Fantasia inside and outside of work.

||DARREN TUCKER, 33

Darren Tucker is the principal of West Adams Elementary School in Los Angeles, California. He inherited the position from his father's father, becoming the youngest school principal in the United States. His status, love for kids, and undeniable charm along with his good looks makes him the perfect bachelor. He has multiple women lining up at his bedroom door, including some of the women that he employs. However, there's only one woman in particular who he's willing to retire his playboy title for and settle down to start a family with.

|| AUBREY MICHAELSON, 5

Aubrey is a student at West Adams Elementary School. He's much more mentally and academically advanced than his classmates, but for one reason or another, his mom & step-dad refuse to allow him to advance from kindergarten early. He's quiet and seemingly antisocial around his peers, but he's quite talkative and active with his teachers, especially Taraji and Fantasia. He always gets his work done before everyone else, so he gets bored easily, leading to him causing disruption during class. His more lenient and understanding teachers come up with unique ways to keep him occupied and out of trouble.
