A Quiet Moment

It was a rare day off for TWICE. The schedule had been packed lately, and every member was looking forward to a few hours of rest before their next round of rehearsals. The members had scattered throughout their dorm, doing their own thing, but Sana and Dahyun found themselves in the living room together.

Sana sat on the couch, absentmindedly flipping through a fashion magazine. Dahyun, sitting next to her, had her head resting on Sana's shoulder, eyes closed in peaceful contentment. The soft hum of the air conditioning and the distant chatter of the other members filled the background, but for the moment, it felt like the world was just the two of them.

"Hmm... I wonder what would've happened if we never became idols," Dahyun said suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence. Her voice was casual, but there was an underlying curiosity in it, a quiet wonder.

Sana looked at her, surprised by the question, but then she smiled softly. "What do you mean?"

"I don't know... Like, what if we never met through all of this? What if we were just two strangers in the world, living our separate lives?" Dahyun continued, lifting her head just slightly to look at her.

Sana thought for a moment, then let out a soft laugh. "I think I would've found you anyway."

Dahyun blinked at her, a little confused. "You think so?"

"Yeah," Sana said, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "You're the type of person I'd meet at a coffee shop, or at a bookstore, or—"

"A karaoke room?" Dahyun suggested with a grin, sitting up and making a dramatic pose like a professional singer.

Sana chuckled and gently nudged her. "Exactly. And you'd probably end up doing your famous 'Dahyun laugh'—that weird snorting sound that always makes me laugh even when I don't want to."

Dahyun gasped in mock offense. "Hey! That's a gift! You should be grateful!"

Sana raised an eyebrow playfully. "Grateful? You're the reason I can't go through one day without cracking up in the middle of something serious."

Dahyun gave her a sheepish grin and shrugged. "What can I say? I'm just that funny."

"You are," Sana agreed, her voice softening as she looked at Dahyun. "But you're also... kind. And loyal. And really, you've been my rock more times than I can count."

Dahyun's heart skipped a beat at the sincerity in Sana's voice. She hadn't expected such a heartfelt moment. "Well, you've been my rock too," Dahyun replied softly, her eyes meeting Sana's. "You make everything easier. You make me feel like I'm not alone in this crazy world."

Sana smiled warmly, her gaze lingering on Dahyun for a moment longer than usual. She'd never realized just how much her feelings for Dahyun had deepened over the years. It wasn't just friendship anymore—there was something more there, something she couldn't quite name, but it was there, woven into the quiet moments they shared.

Dahyun, noticing the shift in the air between them, felt her own heart flutter. "You know, I think we'd still be friends, even if we weren't idols," she said, her voice a little quieter, a little more serious. "But I'm really glad we are idols, if it means I get to be with you every day."

Sana's heart warmed at Dahyun's words. She didn't need any more time to think about it—she already knew the answer. "I'm glad too. I think this is where we're meant to be, together."

Dahyun looked at her, eyes soft and a little uncertain, but the warmth in Sana's gaze made everything feel perfectly clear. "Do you think we'll still be like this when we're older? Laughing, talking, and... being goofy together?"

Sana laughed, reaching over to ruffle Dahyun's hair. "We'll probably still be embarrassing each other in front of our families. You'll be doing your weird laugh at a family dinner, and I'll have to apologize to everyone for your antics."

Dahyun giggled at the thought, then leaned her head on Sana's shoulder again, sighing contentedly. "I'm glad you'll be there to apologize for me."

"Of course," Sana said, her voice light but full of affection. "I'll always have your back, Dahyun."

And in that moment, they both knew that whatever the future held, they would always be there for each other. The world around them could change, but their bond would remain steady. In the quiet moments, in the laughter, in the conversations that didn't need words—they had found something unspoken, but real.

It was the kind of happiness that didn't need to be loud, or flashy. It was simply the warmth of being together, of knowing that no matter what, they'd always have each other.

And that, to them, was perfect.
