Winnie
1994
14 years later
"Winnie?" A soft feminine voice who I've heard several times gently shook me awake. "Winnie?" the voice repeated my name once more.
"It's time to wake up" I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and stretched, sitting up in bed I then covered my mouth to let out a enormous yawn.
I cautiously, surveyed my surroundings and soon relaxed I when I realised exactly where I was.
I wasn't at Hogwarts castle or in my Hufflepuff chambers. Instead i found myself in a girly bedroom filled with artistic artwork and a harmonious, atmosphere.
Once I was fully awake and self-aware the person who the voice belonged to was stood right before me.
My best friend, Ashley Rossi. But she prefers to be called Ash for short.
Her parents are Muggles, which makes her a Muggle too.
A she's a Muggle born witch to be exact.
It truly saddens me how Ash is treated sometimes because of her blood status and how some wizards and witches view their prejudices against Muggle borns.
Especially, Draco and his gang sperent of fools and not to mention his whole tree family.
But that's a different story for another day.
Ash and I have stuck together since our first year at Hogwarts together and I remember that day like it was only yesterday.
"Good morning" I beamed as Ash bend down to give me a quick hug before sitting on the edge of her buttom bunk bed.
"How did you sleep?" Ash curved a wide grin across her face, as large as her dark raven, curly hair.
Another yawn escaped my lips but softer than the last one. "Good thank you. How did you sleep, Ash?"
I slipped my long mahogany, brunette hair out of my face and letting it fell over my shoulders. If I was in a cheesy Muggle hair advert.
"I slept ok," Ash sounded a lot more enthusiastic then I was getting up, bright and early on this fine morning. "Thanks for asking, Winnie"
"You're welcome, Ash" Her reaction had me quite concerned for her wellbeing.
What was Ash being so euphoric about today?
"Is everything ok?" I lowered my voice and quivered in a curiosity tone, patiently awaiting for her to answer.
Ash raised a brow before she laughed a humorous laugh on the verge of utter confusion.
"Yes, Winnie I'm just so over the moon because the Quidditch match is happening today"
My eyes could've popped out of my skull in that moment.
But that would be scientifically impossible to do without magic of course.
Both of my eyebrows frowned upwards as I finally registered Ash's words. "Is that today?"
"Yes" Ash answered without any hint of hesitation filled in her voice. "It's the Quidditch World Cup Final remember, Winnie?
The realised finally hit me, as if I had drank a cup of Muggle coffee to give me energy first thing in the morning.
I looked up at Ash now feeling as wide awake as I ever could be in my whole life.
To the point where my Grandmother would be ever so delighted.
