Prologue: Reassured

Nathalie was sat at her desk stationary, not moving a single muscle whilst lost in thought about what happened across the year. It was her 1st anniversary with Gabriel next week, but the poor woman had barely had a chance to rest.

"Miss Nathalie..?? Miss Nathalie!!!" Screeched a high pitched voice from below. Nathalie quickly switched back to reality and noticed the voice calling her. She reached into her purse and picked up little Duusu with a worried look on her tiny face. "Miss Nathalie!! You looked so worried I couldn't help but notice, is everything okay?" Cried Duusu. "Ah- uh. Of course Duusu I'm alright, thank you for being so considerate. Its just that Gabriel and I's anniversary is a week from now and as you know this is my first relationship so I'm just, a bit nervous." Muttered Nathalie whilst still in shock. "Oh! I see.. well.. Unfortunately despite my power being the power of emotion, us kwamis can't understand human emotions that well Miss Nathalie. As much as I really would like to help you as your companion, theres not much I can do.." Whined Duusu. "Really Duusu, your company alone already soothes me. Please don't worry too much, I'll eventually figure it out. Besides, Gabriel is a really understanding man regardless of his short temper and stubborness, and I love him for that." Said Nathalie in hopes to reassure the concerned kwami. "I guess you're right.. But please be okay Miss Nathalie!!"

"I will Duusu. Get some rest now, you've already used enough of your energy."

Nathalie pecked Duusu on the forehead and put her into her blazer pocket. The door opened and in came Gabriel, who had just came back from a meeting.

"Is everything alright, my love?" Asked Gabriel. "Everythings fine dear, I'm just, a bit nervous." Answered Nathalie.

"Hm, is that so?"

"Yes, we already have our 1st anniversary coming up and honestly im still not experienced with these things." Mumbled Nathalie

Gabriels face morphed into an sympathetic look and placed his hand onto her shoulder.

"I understand Nathalie. Love has always been a rocky topic for you, I too dont have much experience but definitely enough to guide you. The most I can say is just make sure you're comfortable as comfort is a central thing to relationships, but of course, thats something thats mostly down to me." Acknowledged Gabriel.

"But what about you? What about your comfort..?" Asked Nathalie worryingly

"Hm? Oh, don't tell me thats what you've been worrying about all this time." Said Gabriel.

Nathalie nodded slowly.

Gabriel signed to himself and cupped Nathalie's cheeks.

"Nathalie my love, I guarantee you with all my heart and soul that I belong to you, and you only. By how much energy your body loses just by thinking about the many ways to make me feel settled in our relationship, although your presence alone can melt the stress out of me. You're doing just great, I appreciate it a lot."

Gabriel kissed her on the lips and offered her a hand, implying that he should carry her up to bed.

Nathalie, who definitely looked more relaxed than before, allowed him to pick her up bridal style.

"Sleep well, my love. You'll need it."
