Beauty.
If there's one thing I know about it is that it's everyone's standard. something everyone chases after so much that they forget about the true beauty.
Not materialistic beauty, not the beauty standard in looks. not the perfect body shape or the amount of money you have.
True beauty is when you know you don't need any of that, when you don't need to wear loads of makeup, skin tight clothes, starve yourself to look a certain way.
It's when you feel good about yourself even when you don't fit into today's standard. true beauty is when you don't look for people to recognize it but when you recognize it in yourself, not going around boasting it, showing yourself off in all the wrong ways looking for attention that you know you don't really want, but you think it'll help heal a part of you that has been broken. a part of you that is missing, a part of you that you think won't heal.
In today's society, beauty is what matters.
When really it shouldn't be.
We're taught to love, in the way that they say is right, we're taught to heal, in the way they think is right, we're taught to understand and agree with the things they say is right.
A lot of people say that they know words are powerful.
But do they really?
"I wanna be better." People say.
"I look really ugly." they also say.
How can you want one thing but practice and say and do the thing you don't want to be?
Negativity is all I hear these days.
Destruction is all that gives these days.
War is all that's happening these days.
Chaos is all that's erupting these days.
I sit and think a lot and wonder what goes on in people's mind, that they are so quick to believe everything that the 'higher ups' say.
When I say your attitude towards everything is what will get you where you want to be, I'm serious.
Studies have shown that engaging in positive self-talk activates regions of the brain associated with self-regulation, emotional processing, and reward.
As in speak the things into manifestation.
I know sometimes we all don't think about what we say but if we at least put it into practice and try and show ourselves that we are trying, distancing ourselves from the things that are negative, showing ourselves the things that matter and are important. instead of letting it go to waste.
There are so many good things people can do, if only we put our mind too it.
After all.
The mind and your words are a very powerful thing.
Saturday November 12
I clutch my jacket tighter around me scowling up at the sky.
How dare it decide to rain the day of my interview?
Taking a deep breath, I run through the rain muttering all type of curse words under my breath.
Someone bumps into my arm hard almost making me drop my papers.
"Watch it." they say before pushing past me.
"Sorry," I mutter fixing my glasses as I stare at the building in front of me. "Stargazing Designs." I whisper under my breath.
