I am one of those nerds that everyone sees but turns away from. I don't think I'm pretty, but I don't need to. I have my grades to tell me I'm worth it. And I have my bullies to tell me I'm worthless. "Hey smart ass! Did you do my homework?" Shit. I turned around I face Josh Damin, school jock and local idiot. "No. The answer is always the same. Don't you learn?" Mental pat on the back for that one. "Don't talk back to me!" He grabbed my collar. I fight back, but that only makes it worse. "Gosh. Is that all you've got? Are you sure you should be on the football team?" He punched me in the face. Ow. "You worthless piece of shit!" He punched me again. This time I didn't say anything. He pushed me against a locker and shook me. My binder fell, but I made sure to keep my songbook held tight. I could feel the air change as apparently the one and only Harry Styles walked by. Josh dropped me and him and his goons walked away. I hurriedly picked up my things and ran to the bathroom texting Genna.

In the bathroom. It's an emergency.

I looked at my face. Well that's gonna bruise. I covered it with my long black hair and tried to stay calm. "I brought....oh." Genna burst in to the bathroom. "Come here babes. What did he do now?" Genna knew Josh, he was friends with her brother. She tenderly poked it. "Alright. Looks fine. Probs just gonna bruise." She flipped her short blonde hair. "You ok?" I nodded. The bell for first rang and I ran to class.

At lunch Genna sat down and started blabbering about something. "Did you hear? Harry's parents are out of town and he's throwing a party! We are so going!" I looked up at her shocked. "What are you thinking?!? Someone like me would never be allowed to go!" She just laughed and shook her head. "Your going to wear your contacts and were going shopping for a dress! You are gonna look fantabulous!" Leave it to Genna to drag me on some wild adventure that will lead to tears.

The final bell rings and the moment of the day I've dreaded comes. Shopping with Genna. Genna's sweet and all but she is a monster when it comes to shopping. She threw about five dresses at me. I stumbled into the dressing room and tried each of them on. Each of them got a no. She handed me one last one that I didn't think I could pull off. It was an off the shoulder black dress that had sequined stripes. I put it on and it fit. I looked in the mirror and liked how it looked. I walked out to Genna in a conversation with a really attractive guy. He turned his eyes and almost eye raped me. Genna turned and that's when I saw it was her brother. She slapped his chest. "That's my best friend! She's pure!" Genna walked over to me and had me pose. "This is it!" She had me change and we checked out.

I was at Gennas house in the bathroom getting ready for the party, when she walked in. She was gorgeous. Her blonde hair was curled and she was wearing a hot pink strapless shirt and a tight denim skirt. She shuffled in in her heels and looked at me. "My baby's growing up." She took her straightener out and straightened my hair and did my makeup. She dragged my out to her car an we went on our way. Here we go.
