A new life ( Among the Hidden fanfiction)

Welcome Home

If you didn't know Luke is a young boy that lived with his Mom, Dad, and two older brothers. Where he lived it was illegal to have three kids because of the population is big. If someone was found trying t hide a third child they would righter have to pay a million dollars or the kid would have to executed. Luke was unfortunately a third child. So Luke had to get a fake identity and live with different people. Sense he now has a new identity that also meant he needs a new name which is now Lee Grant. His new parents are a nice woman named Maria and a man named Matthew just like one of his older brothers.

"Alright Lee this is your new home," Maria said with a big smile.

 I'm  not going to lie it is a pretty nice house. Its a bit bigger than my old one, and it looked even nicer because it seemed like they just got the paint redone. I felt kind of bad because I didn't smile or anything. I could tell they were trying to make me happy, but I couldn't get the picture out of my head when I left. Mom was crying and dad had a disappointed face. My brothers just looked blank like they didn't understand anything that was gong on. 

Just then I heard a loud scream, but it didn't sound like the scared tip of scream it sounded like a happy laughing kind of scream. My head jolted to the side where the scream was coming from.

"Oh don't worry Lee that would just be our crazy neighbors kids having fun," Matthew said, "Maybe later we can show you the neighborhood."

  "Oh um okay, but wont they think its weird that you just got a kid from nowhere?" I said as we all walked up the stairs of the front porch.

"Don't be silly we will just tell them we adopted you," he said as he laughed

We all walked inside together it was pretty nice Maria and Matthew just stood there is was kind of like I new what they were doing. They where trying to let me just look around and be curious. When I first came in I saw the kitchen and its pretty nice it have a big dining room table to.

"Your room is just down that hall to right. Hope you like it," Maria said with a smile 

Once I got to my room and opened the door my eyes widened. There was a big white bed,  there was a desk and there was plenty of clothes in the dresser. I was so happy. Finally something to get my mind off everything. Finally something to be happy about. I never go this kind of stuff at my old house because I was a third child and my parents didn't want to make it to obvious that there was another kid in the house.

I laughed a little as I ran out of  my room and Maria and Matthew looked a little scared as I was running at them. Then I hugged them as hard as I could.

"Thank you," I uttered.

Maria said softly,"Your welcome."  

I walked back to my room and laid on my bed. Sure I was happy at the moment, but after that I just brought myself back to my sad grieving self. I just sat there thinking what it would be like if I where back at home with mom eating some of her delicious home-maid bread that she makes. I just sat there as I started to cry. Then Maria knocked on the door and came in. She came in sat on the bed and hugged me, I hugged her back.

"I know its hard to move to a new place where you don't know anybody or anything, but it will work out. Were going to try our hardest to make sure you feel comfortable around us and if you ever feel sad you can always talk to us about it okay." Maria calmly said.

I just nodded my head and I wiped the tears of my face as she left the room. As I started unpacking I was thinking about the good things that could happen to me here, because I was trying not to think of the negative things and how I miss my home.
