As he stood next to his mothers grave whilst everyone was leaving to their cars, he had one thought that roamed through his mind, "How could a sweet loving mother be included in a dangerous contest."
Bellami was a seventeen year old teenager that had lost his mother to a dangerous contest held by his mothers job. Before she had died she had left a voicemail explaining why she had accepted the offer, it was to pay off all the debts and to send Bellami to his dream college. Bellami had done some research and found out that the contest was rewarding ten million dollars to the winner.
Bellami was in denial that his mothers job could have possibly been doing this for years, he just couldn't believe this.
"Jesus christ...", he muttered under his breath with tears prickling at his eyes. "why would anyone possibly even think this sick game up?", while looking at the website on the computer describing the game. In the back of his mind he was contemplating on joining the game, all the website described was that the game master had to choose who will be playing.
"I have to join this game... but how?!", he yelled as he slammed his hands on the table. Once he slammed his hands on the table his phone rang, he ignored the annoying ring tone and tried to focus on his plans to figure out how he was going to reach the man. The phone rang again for the second time, Bellami was contemplating if he should throw his phone to the wall. As he was reaching for the phone to throw it he saw who was trying to get a hold of him, on his phone screen the words read 'Moms Work'. "What in the hell..", he said before answering it.
"Hello?", he answered.
"Hello? Son? Hi, this is Richard, I was your moms co-worker. I worked in the same medical field as her."
"What are you calling for Richard?", agitation in Bellami's voice. He wondered why in Gods name would the hospital call him at two in the morning.
"I'm here to call you to see if you would care to come in to my boss's office tomorrow morning at nine? My boss would call you himself but he has some business to attend to at the moment."
Bellami's heart jolted as he had a bad feeling but he knew what he must do, "Yeah, I'll meet him there. Could you send me the information please?"
Richard seemed to take a while to respond but he finally spoke replying, "Why yes of course, see you later son."
As Bellami was going to hang up he heard another man speak up in the background, it sounded to muffled so he couldn't hear what they were talking about but he did hear an approval and his own name by Richard. Troubled by his own thoughts, Bellami decided to go to sleep since he had that meeting in the morning. Before he lied his head down he heard his phone go off with a beep, indicating he had gotten a text message. Bellami got back up and read the message, 'Address is 563 West 6th Avenue, go to level 9 and tell the secretary your name and she will take you to Mr. Hoss.' Bellami sighed in approval getting a bad gut feeling, as he lied down his final thought was how bad could this man be as he fell into a deep sleep.
