It was a simple procedure. All she needed was a simple medical ninjutsu to live, to survive.

Her finger shakily clenched the stain. The wetness of it, fresh and thick, overlayed her cold palm with warmth. Sakura's pupils lowered to her chest, blood on her favorite dress. It was pouring out from her left shoulder to her right hip, dripping to make ripples on the puddle she created underneath.

Her mind didn't register what happened.

"Ka...Kakashi-sensei?" She whispered weakly.

Her vision darkened but the little glimpse of her teacher's frightened, wide eyes bore into her. Her body swayed and she could no longer support herself. She fell backwards, her consciousness slipping away. The last thing she heard before she blacked out was the sound of bird chirping.

"Come on, one, two, three jolt." The body spasmed, hovered slightly before slamming down.

She was twelve years old. Only twelve when she received her first and last sword wound.

"She's not breathing!" He paced back and forth, lips biting his nails.

It was her very first mission outside of her village. It was supposed to be "C" rank, simple enough for a newly appointed genin to do until... it wasn't simple enough anymore.

"Again! One, two, three!" The defibrillator pumped into her body, increasing the electric dose by the second. They were in a poor village with no medical nin.

She wanted to save their client. She wanted to protect him like how her teammates protected her. She wanted to do her duty as their equal. She wanted to prove their trust was worthy. She wanted to make sure she saved a life... even at the cost of hers.

"Please Sakura-chan! Please!" He wrung his fingers, his freshly chapped nails digging into his skin. The tears were pouring out in fear.

Maybe it's because she was weak that she's dying? Maybe she shouldn't have spent her time putting effort into her appearance? Maybe she should have trained more?

"Sakura... I won't forgive you if you die!" He harshly stomped and punched the wall. He glared through the window to her bedridden self.

It was odd... that she knew she was going to die before she actually did. She could feel it, the way her life was seeping out of her.

"No" The sound of continuous beeping resonated.

Sakura Haruno died during her mission in the land of Wave.

Zoro squinted his eyes open, running his fingers through his hair at the migraine that formed there. He didn't know why he felt heavy. He propped himself up and rubbed his forehead to ease the pain away. The memories of the Strawhats knocked out cold from Kuma's attack flashed through him. He stood up fast, his head whipping around. His initial rush subdued when he saw the strange room he was in. Where was he? It didn't matter, he needed to get to the Strawhats. He slid his leg off the bed and blinked. Thin, smooth, hairless legs stretched. Green shorts above the knees and a weird red dress. He shook his head, standing up and the second alarm rang in his head. His view should be higher, not this low. He looked at the mirror reflection that was right in front of the bed. Pink hair girl was staring back at him. When he turned around to walk away, from his spherical, she turned around as well. He didn't spare it a thought before he sprinted out, going downstairs. A bunch of strange people were sitting down on the dining table but he passed them in a breeze.
