Ojasvi confronted him, her voice filled with accusation and anger. “This is how I’ll react when you dismiss people without cause. You’re so heartless.” Damon let out a dark chuckle, while Leo felt a wave of anger on Ojasvi, noticing the pain etched in his friend’s eyes.
“Enough. I don’t need a character certificate from you. Yes I am heartless. If you speak one more word, I won’t think twice to push you off from this building.” Damon growled angrily which made Ojasvi shudder in her place but she didn’t stop herself from insulting him. Leo who heard this knew his sister was crossing the line.
“Mai, please be quiet,” Leo urged, frowning at her. Ojasvi brushed him off, which only amused Damon, though his head throbbed with pain and her words stung his heart. He shut his eyes, overwhelmed by a sudden ache in both his heart and head. His anger didn’t fear her it amused him and kept silent hearing her insults. He was taken aback, realizing that for the first time, the person reprimanding him was none other than her. It hurt deeply when she called him heartless. Today, he found himself wanting to hear all the resentment she held against him!
Ojasvi stared incredulously at Damon. “You also heard him say he wants to throw me off the building? What does that even mean, Anna? Wasn’t he labeled as heartless? If he’s not heartless, then what should I call him?” Her disbelief was palpable as she glared at Damon, struggling to understand why her brother was defending him.
“It’s you who’s disrespecting him without knowing the…” Leo began, but Ojasvi cut him off, leaving both Damon and Leo in shock at her audacity to interrupt two of the most feared and ruthless figures in the Mafia.
“No, Anna (Brother). I can’t understand why he takes pleasure in others’ suffering and vulnerability. Doesn’t he have any compassion? All he does is intimidate employees, punish them, and unleash his fury. Can’t he see their weaknesses? Just because he has money doesn’t mean everyone else does.” Ojasvi raged, her anger spilling forth. She fixed her glare on him, while Damon watched her, emotionless, his heart shattering at her words. He never realized she harbored such deep resentment for him. “I despise him, Anna (Brother). He fired Nathan Uncle without justification, acting like he’s the perfect boss. You can let me go since it was my request for the CCTV footage that led to this. It’s my fault he did it. Please, give him his job back,” Ojasvi pleaded, tears brimming in her eyes, leaving Damon speechless, her words cutting deep, but her tears pierced his very soul.
“Ms Krishnan, that's enough. I've heard more than enough from you. If you don't have any knowledge on the matter, it's best to stay silent. Is this how you address someone who’s your boss? If you forgot your limits I will show you.” Leo's voice was low and menacing, causing Ojasvi to flinch and take a step back, caught off guard by her brother's harsh tone. She never anticipated he would confront her like this. If she weren't his sister, Leo might have killed that person for insulting his Capo. Ojasvi's unfounded accusations against his friend ignited a rare anger within Leo, one he had never felt towards her before. He noticed the hurt in his friend's eyes, a direct result of her words.
“Marcello, watch your tone,” Damon warned, shooting a glare at him. Leo looked at Damon in disbelief. All this time, Ojasvi had been hurling accusations, and Damon remained silent, but now that Leo was defending him, Damon was quick to intervene. What a shift in dynamics. Damon didn’t liked the way Leo was taking his tone on his sunshine. He has seen her hurt filled eyes which made him stop Leo.
“I never anticipated this from you, Anna (Brother). I understand he’s your friend, which is why you’re defending him, but this behavior is simply unacceptable.” Ojasvi grumbled, making it clear to both men that she shared a strong connection with the Nathan family.
“Ms. Krishnan, please hear me out…” Leo attempted to clarify, but Ojasvi dismissed him with an angry glare, her nose flaring in frustration. The sight was amusing to both men; her fierce expression was undeniably cute. Damon, who had been nursing a headache, felt a wave of relief wash over him as he admired her adorable anger. He had an overwhelming urge to pinch her flushed cheeks, which were red from irritation, and to dry her tears that he knew were a result of his actions.
