I'm pretty annoyed right now. Penny is asleep and me and Oscar are dead. Just kidding, we're not. We almost were.

It was all about Penny. Not that I blame her for anything. Oscar kind of does though. They've had this life long feud for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's since she's better at footie than him. Or she won in the village talent show. Or she went missing....
Sorry, that was too much information. Should I tell you the story?
Alright, I clearly remember it was summer. Penny was playing footie in the yard and Lydia Alex was with her. Lydia Alex is the captain of the football team and one year older than Penny. Penny can be the captain when she is in year 6. And she's already been guarenteed the spot. There were rumours going around that she bribed the coach. Denise Clark spread that rumour.
Stupid, stuck-up, preppy Denise Clark. But I'll tell you about her later.
"So Penny, you like football?" Lydia asked.
"Yeah."
"At your age, I couldn't even tackle well. And look at me now!"
Lydia showed off her round, shiny badge engraved with the words "Football Captain: Girls". It glinted in the sunlight and Penny leaned forward to touch it.
"No, no, no." She said. "Not until you're one of my BESTEST friends."
"Can I come round your house tomorrow, then?" Penny looked hopeful.
"Of course."
Now, Lydia is two years younger than me, but she has the sassiness of a 14 year old.
