Chloe's POV
Today was my celebration day. I had finally finished my first year in college, *phew* that was tough especially as a newcomer to the outside world, I faced numerous challenges even though it's owned by the church. But it wasn't just the academic pressure that tested me - it was the temptations too.
My roommate, Sophie, had been a bad influence on me and my friends, Tabitha and Sarah. She had somehow taken over Sarah, leading her down a destructive path. I still felt guilty for not saving her.
Before entering College, my parents had spent two months teaching me how to cope with the outside world. Their advice had helped, but working part-time for my feeding had exposed me to new challenges.
“ Esther are you done already?” mom asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“ yes mum, I'm taking the bouquet ” I replied.
“ please hurry; you don't want to be late for your special occasion ” she reminded me
“I'll be there in just a minute” I said, glancing at the mirror one last time before leaving my room.
As I rushed out of my room,I almost collided with my younger brother.
“ You're in a hurry” he said with a mischievous grin .
“ You call this on time? ” I asked showing him the time on my phone screen.
He burst out laughing “ I thought you were an early bird! ”
“Esther, stop playing! Do you want to be late?” my mom intervened.
I bid my brother farewell and followed my mom to the hospital, where Sarah was admitted.
Upon entering the ward, I saw Sarah lying on the bed, still receiving her drip.
