The Girls
Taylor's POV:
The loud knock rings through the apartment as I pull the chai cookies out of the oven.
"Come in!" I yell knowing only a few people could ever get up to my apartment in New York and I have Drew standing outside the door, so the knock is only a courtesy.
"We have arrived!" I hear Blake exclaim and the thundering of multiple shoes being kicked off in the doorway.
Originally we were going to go to Zero Bond, but more of my friends were in town than I expected so I moved girls night to my place. I had managed to keep Travis to myself so far, so far only my parents have been told and a few of Travis's friends and family, but tonight I was spilling the beans. It wasn't intentional to not tell them, but after all of the heartbreak these girls have seen be through this year I wanted to make sure it was serious before I clued them in.
"Are those chai cookies?!" Ashley asks eagerly as they step into the large kitchen overflowing with food. One thing about me is I am a pro at stress cooking, and telling the girls about Travis has made me so nervous.
"They just came out of the oven so they need to cool, but yes. I also have a charcuterie board set up in the dining room along with a few bottles of wine chilling." I point out with the tongs as I move the cookies to a cooling tray. Blake gives me a curious side eye and pulls me into a tight hug as the others walk into the dining room to check out the spread and set down their belongings.
"You look good kid." She says eyeing me up and down. When we do girls night at my place it is a very casual look so I am in a pair of biker shorts and a purple crop top that I had thrown on after my workout this morning.
"Thank you, I feel good. You look great B, how's my godson doing?" I ask. Blake just gave birth to a baby boy, Olin, earlier this year and with tour kicking off I haven't seen them as often.
"He's good, giving Ryan and I a run for our money." We laugh and we walk into the dining room to join the others.
We are all just sitting around the table snacking on some fruit and crackers and sipping on our wine when Drew appears in the doorway a little bit later.
"Sorry to interrupt ladies but we have a delivery out here for you Taylor." He says quietly gaining the attention of the group.
I can feel the girls questioning stares but I shrug unsure of what I could have ordered and follow Drew to the front of the house. Luke, another one of my security team, is standing at the doorway holding a large bouquet of flowers. Drew waves Luke in and he sets the flowers on the kitchen island before walking away without commenting on it. The girls are peeking at me from the dining room when I grab the card out of the bouquet.
It's only been a few days since you left and I already miss you. Good luck in the studio this week and I will see you soon. Thinking of you always <3 T.K.
I left Kansas City Wednesday morning and its only Friday and I am already scheduled to head back on Sunday after his game, which would be his first game back. I bite my lip looking down at the arrangement of red and white roses, 13 each to be exact. Grabbing my phone out of my pocket I quickly pull up our long thread of texts knowing he would be home from practice now.
Taylor: Trav! Thank you for the flowers, I love them so much.
Travis: Anything for you beautiful. Have fun with the girls tonight and I can't wait to see you Sunday :)
"Ok, that's enough time. Who the hell has you smiling like that and sending you flowers?!" Blake's mom voice cuts through the air. Grimacing I realize the secret of Travis is coming to an end and I haven't really decided what I was going to say. I look longingly at the flowers one more time before turning on my heel to face my friends, all who have expectant eyes and large smiles.
