The Best Babysitter

AN: I hope you all are doing ok after the tour ended, I am very sad so I decided to write. If you watched Kylie Kelce's podcast (you should, she's hilarious), she mentioned she asks someone to watch the kids when she has doctors appointments or has things to do. I had the idea that maybe Taylor watches the girls for her.

December 2024

Taylor's POV: 

The sky is a deep gray as winter brings in the cold air in Kansas City. I wrap myself in Travis's red Chiefs hoodie and tuck my feet in my fluffy UGG slippers before making the trek downstairs. Travis has been gone since 7:00am for an early morning workout with Pat and is now at practice so the house is silent minus the soft whirl of the heat kicking on. It's a Friday which normally means I am back in New York to get work done, but with just finishing up the Eras tour, I am taking the rest of the year off before getting back into music. For now, I am just going to relax and get settled into Travis's house now that I can be here for more than a few days at a time. 

Walking into the living room I curl myself on the couch, wrapping myself in one of the soft blankets I keep around the room since I am always cold and Travis runs hot. I am scrolling through Netflix trying to find something to watch when I see my phone light up with an incoming call. 

Kylie Kelce. 

Kylie doesn't call me very often, I can probably count on one hand the amount of times she has, so I quickly grab my phone and slide to answer her call.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hi Tay, hope I am not catching you at a bad time?" 

"Not at all, I am just trying to stay warm." 

"I saw you guys were having temps in the teens! We are at least in the high twenties, not much better but a little bit." She laughs out. 

"Currently questioning why I choose to stay in Kansas City when I could be at my house in LA." I joke.

"I feel like you choose KC for a certain brother in law of mine." She teases.

"You might be on to something." I laugh before there is a small pause. 

"I have a favor to ask you, and you can totally say no! I promise I will not be offended." Kylie breaks the silence. 

"Anything what can I do?" 

"I have a OBGYN appointment on Monday afternoon and my first team meeting for my field hockey team in the evening. Jason is in Minnesota for Monday Night Football, my parents are visiting my sister and her family, Ed is doing a charity thing in Cleveland, and Donna is on a cruise. I wouldn't ask if I had another local option, but is there any chance you would be interested in watching the girls Monday? Don't feel bad if you can't! I can always ask a few of the Eagles's wives if they could split the day." She rushes out.

"I would love to spend time with the girls! What time is your appointment? Do you need me to fly in Sunday night or Monday morning?" I ask already messaging my flight ops team. 

"Are you sure? I know this is a big ask just to help babysit for a day." 

"It's no big deal Ky, let me help you. What time?" 

"Monday morning is fine, my appointment isn't until 2:00pm and then my meeting is at 6:00pm but I should be home around 8?" 

"No worries. I will fly in Monday morning around 10am so you can show me the ropes and I will just book a hotel and fly home Tuesday morning."
