At school, everyone kind of ignores me as usual.I accidentally brush past a girl on my way to science
"Eughh, wierdo."
I ignore her, what kind of insult is that anyway?Of course, she only thinks I'm a wierdo because of how I keep to myself, I'm not an 'introvert', I don't talk to anyone because no one wants to.Im actually quite bubbily, I think.
I find my science class, peering inside before going into it.The teacher is showing people were to sit.
*when I was homeschooled I could sit wherever I wanted* I think.
I step inside, the teacher immediately perks up.
"Ah,you're Alice?" He asks.
I nod.he gestures to my seat, I walk over and notice a girl in the next one over.
She had fair, wavy blonde hair and pale skin with rosy cheeks, to go along with her angelic theme, she has ocean blue eyes that stand out against the dark eye makeup she has on.I sit down, she looks at me tilting her head slightly, I can tell she's wondering who I am.i wish I could talk to her.I mentally take a deep breath
"Hey" I say quickly and a little to quiet for her to hear properly.
"Hey, are you alice?" She asks sweetly.
She seems really friendly, but I've learned to not judge a book by its introduction.
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"Word gets 'round, when you don't talk people assume you don't have ears either, so I hear what everyone says"
I laugh a little
"What have you heard about me?" I ask genuinely.
"I would say 'all good things' but I don't like sugar coating"
*I smile, she seems very genuine*
"They say.." She starts, trying to remember the conversations she overheard. "They say that you are 'wierd'"
"Nothing new" I add, looking away and opening my book
"Yeah, me too.But if you're not wierd you're boring."
We both exchange smiles
The teachers voice breaks up the exchange.
"Girls, please pay attention."
He says. He then lowers his voice, looking at me, directing his next words at me. "Alice, I understand your new, but that gives no excuse to act up."Act up? ACT UP? How am I 'acting up'? I was speaking QUIETLY to my friend!
*friend?*
Hm, I like that.
But then a thought comes across me, how can I be her friend if I don't even know her name?I glance at her notebook, the name on it reads:
'Morana'
That's a pretty name.
We go about the class as usual, and at the end, I stand up at the same time as Morana, packing my stuff up and putting my jacket over my ugly black and red blazer.
She turns to me
"Alice, do you have any friends yet, in the school?"I shake my head
She gives me that sympathetic look I hate.
"Want to hang with me during lunch?" She asks.
I wonder if it's a pity invite, even though I really do want to hang with her.
"Yeah, that would be great!"
She starts walking and I follow beside her, occasionally glancing at her blue eyes. I notice a little pin on her lapel and squint my eyes trying to see what it is.
I must have been looking at it for long because she turns to me and notices what I'm looking at.
