"We're too young to drown deep in dirty waters
Full of hopeless doubt, let me pull you out"
Lianna Scamander did not want to go back to Hogwarts.
She didn't feel particularly safe there and never had. Who could blame her? Her first year was filled with curious people who spent all their time asking about Lianna's family rather than her; her second year was filled with people getting petrified and visions of snakes; her third year was filled with fear about a mass 'murderer'; and her fourth year had finished with the death of one of her close friends, having been a witness to it.
She did not think going back was a good idea either. Her visions had been slowly getting worse with the return of Voldemort and she always got them worse at Hogwarts — her mother claimed it was from the stress.
"Okay, all ready?" Daniel questioned as they stood at the platform.
"No but I don't have a choice," Lianna mumbled, hugging her father. "I wish I could stay home with you."
"Oh, Lia. Hogwarts is supposed to be the best time of your life," Daniel whispered, kissing her head.
"I don't think the world likes me," Lianna mumbled into his shoulder.
Daniel kissed her head again before breaking the hug, noticing the small green creature peaking out her pocket to see if the coast was clear — the coast was not clear.
"If anyone finds that bowtruckle, you'll be in trouble," Daniel pointed out. "Do you have Snuffles too?"
"Maybe."
"I can't blame you. Keep her safe, Twiggy," said Daniel, winking at the bowtruckle. "Right, I love you. Make sure to hug your mum too."
Lianna nodded and ran to hug her mother, who was talking to Noah and Remus. Aquila chuckled, hugging her daughter before letting her get on the train with Noah.
Lianna nodded vigorously, her long hair bouncing as she sprinted towards her mother. Aquila was engaged in a serious conversation with Noah and Remus about looking after her daughter. As Lianna reached her, Aquila chuckled warmly and enveloped her daughter in a tight embrace, feeling the familiar comfort of her little girl's presence. After a moment, she gently released Lianna, watching with a mix of pride and nostalgia as she climbed aboard the train beside Noah, the sound of clattering wheels reminding them both of the adventures that awaited.
"LIANNA! NOAH!" Christina's voice rang out.
Christina Martin; a muggle-born girl from Yorkshire with a bold attitude and no regard for anyone else outside herself and her friends. She didn't believe in the conventional societal rules people made, especially not the gossip of Hogwarts. She followed her own rules, that was sure.
