Hesitantly I walked towards the corner moving aside the chair and searching for something anything.
A small envelope leaning on a stiff black object was placed gently in the center of the corner.
I bent down towards the objects and picked them up suddenly stiffening I was holding the envelope...and the gun I glanced at the gun my body shaking and cold blood had stained the gun crusted and dried on the handle and now the blood from my palms stained the gun handle.
I picked up the envelope with the gun in hand opening the aged paper.
A note was written in neat small letters scrawled across the page.
I silently read it to myself.
"The girl that waits at the door is the one your looking for"
A small post it note was attached to the barrel of the gun reading "take this".
My thoughts clouded my head and the room started to spin.
Suddenly the door was open revealing daddy standing there livid.
He glared at me and the gun back and forth before he stepped towards me grabbing the gun.
"What are you doing" he questioned.
"Just..cleaning up the attic a little bit" I lied.
"Why do you need a gun to do that? He asked angrily,"were you...were you going to shoot me?"
"No daddy" I said shaking my head
He grabbed my Neck and took the gun to my head .
"If you try to shoot me I will send this bullet through your skull faster than you can grab the damn gun" he threatened.
"Yes sir" I abliged.
His grip on my neck tightened and the air was forced out of me after a few seconds he released. I struggled for breathe stumbling over the dusty chairs.
He walked out of the room sneaking a glance at me then he walked out his shoes scratching at the tiles the gun in hand his head hung low but his eyes wandered around the room before walking out of the room and shutting the door without a word.
I took a seat on the cold hard tiles of the attic floor and sighed in defeat as the creak of the floors daddy was walking on Echoed throughout the house but other than the subtle creaks there was nothing but silence.
I cried to myself suddenly questioning if this was real maybe I was just going completely insane what if he gun the notes the envelope was all just a dream and I was living in this imaginary blissful distant hope of the clues leading me to a place where I could live in peace. But I still deserved it to live in blind faith of somewhere better.
