Rain

It was just about noon when the rain started. Din and Grogu were on their way home when a rumble overhead announced the coming storm. Shoot.
Din paused and shared a look with his kid. The sky rumbled again and Din broke into a run. Maybe he could get them home before it started.
That hope didn't last long, though. He only made it a few feet before the water came down. Rain was rare here on Nevarro, thanks to the planet's dry atmosphere. In fact, it was their first storm since moving here.
The drops made metallic tapping sounds as they hit his armor. Thin rivers ran down his helmet's visor, obscuring his vision. Din pulled his cape over his kid's head, who cooed gratefully.
The dark, gritty soil of Nevarro wasn't used to this much moisture. Instead of absorbing into the dirt, the water formed muddy puddles, which splashed underfoot.
By the time Din reached his front door, he was shivering. He pressed a button on his gauntlet and the door slid open. He stepped inside. Though the heating system wasn't on yet, it was quite a few degrees warmer there. The cabin was pleasantly quiet. The rain sounded far away.
Grogu tugged the saturated cape off him and blinked up at his dad. They'd only been standing there for a few seconds, but a puddle of water was already forming at their feet.
"Okay," Din said, setting the kid on the floor, "Stay put. I'll go grab us something dry."
He slipped out of his muddy boots and crossed the living room in sock feet. Din headed into their bedroom, where he opened the closet and gathered a handful of towels. When he returned to the living room, he found Grogu trembling on the ground. Water dripped off his ears and soaked into his shirt, turning the fabric into an even darker shade of brown.
Din scooped him up, wrapped him in their fluffiest towel, and brought him back to their bedroom.
