Chapter: 5
After their duel at the festival, Shax and Iruma were more inseparable than ever. But one day, while cleaning up after class, Iruma noticed a peculiar, ancient-looking book tucked behind one of the shelves in the library. Its cover was dusty, marked with a strange emblem that shimmered in the dim light.Iruma: murmuring to himself "What's this...?"Curiosity got the better of him, and he opened it, skimming over the cryptic language inside. As he tried to decipher it, a strange tingling sensation crept up his arm.Just then, Shax strolled up, his usual carefree grin on his face.Shax: eyes widening with excitement "What did you find, Iruma? Is it some ancient demon artifact? Or a spellbook from the Forbidden Vaults?"Iruma: laughing "No, I think it's... a spellbook? But I don't recognize any of these symbols."Shax's eyes lit up with excitement, and he plopped down beside Iruma, peering at the mysterious text.Shax: "Let me see! I'm great with tricky spells. Maybe there's something we can try out!"But as they scanned the page, they came across a strange, complex spell in a bold font. The words seemed to glow, pulling them in, and before they knew it, Shax's hand was hovering over the page, casting the spell.A brilliant flash filled the room, and suddenly, they found themselves in complete darkness.Iruma: alarmed "Shax? Are you still here?"Shax: reaching out "I'm here! But... where are we? I just read the spell out loud—I didn't think it would actually work."They looked around and noticed a faint light coming from above. They were standing in what looked like a shadowy, endless void. But then, an eerie voice echoed around them, low and whispery.Mysterious Voice: "To escape this place, one must prove their loyalty and bravery. Are you both worthy?"They exchanged a nervous glance, Shax gulping as he tried to keep his cool.Iruma: trying to sound brave "We can do this, Shax. Let's prove we're worthy!"Shax: determined, giving Iruma a nod "Right. Together, we've got this!"They began to navigate through the darkness, encountering trials that tested their courage, loyalty, and cleverness. At one point, they had to answer questions about each other's strengths and weaknesses.Voice: "What is your friend's greatest fear?"Iruma hesitated, glancing at Shax. He remembered that Shax was self-conscious about his height and, sometimes, about feeling overlooked.Iruma: softly "I think... Shax is afraid of being forgotten or left behind."Shax looked at Iruma with a surprised but grateful expression, realizing that Iruma truly understood him. Finally, after what felt like hours, they completed the challenges and found themselves back in the library, the mysterious spellbook glowing faintly in front of them.Shax: breathing a sigh of relief "That was... intense. But you know what? I wouldn't have made it through without you, Iruma."Iruma: smiling "Same here. Guess we really are a team."They closed the spellbook, tucking it away and vowing to keep their little adventure a secret. But deep down, both felt a new sense of trust in each other, a bond forged not just by friendship, but by loyalty and bravery.
