"Haha..." I couldn't help but laugh, and Laurence joined in. We'd definitely had a few too many, but tonight was about celebrating. That land deal we'd just closed was going to make us a fortune—probably millions if things went well. I tilted my head back, feeling light and warm and, well, a little fuzzy around the edges.
Laurence leaned in, close enough that I could see the way his eyes were just a shade darker, almost thoughtful. "So, Andrea... what's on your mind....now?"
I smiled, my words coming out a little tangled. "Nothing much... Just workkk...Sophiaa...and... Denzel..." I didn't even notice why I took Denzel's name neither his reaction at first, but Laurence's expression shifted when I mentioned Denzel's name.
"You're still hanging out with him?" There was a strange edge in his voice. I just shook my head, the room tilting a little with me.
"Noo, not exactly...but his brother and my sister are dating, so we just...kind of bump into each other..." I shrugged and grinned, feeling a little goofy. He was such an attractive guy, after all.
But Laurence's hand brushed against my back, resting on my waist and tightening just a bit. His voice softened, but I could hear the firmness. "Andrea... you know he's trouble. He's involved in things you shouldn't be anywhere near."
I laughed it off, shrugging. "Lauu...I'm fine, really. Besides, he's just...too good-looking..." Laurence's arm pulled me closer, "That's all it is, Andrea—just attraction." I nodded, "Yeahh...attrac.."
I blinked, suddenly feeling drowsy. I let my head rest against his shoulder, eyes fluttering shut. "I Dunno...just sleepy..."
"Then sleep." His voice was soft, right beside me.
But I shook my head, forcing my eyes open. "No... need to get home."
Alcohol made me loose; it's the only way I can cope with life. Laurence had always been the one to drink with me and hear my nonsense, I brag a lot. "I will buy...a limited version of car now..." I blow at my hairs. Something about Laurence touching me just doesn't feel the same way how Rose touches me. Her touches make me feel she's very close to me... my friend. But Laurence's touches are... possessive, I don't ever want to say that just because I think that.
We're friends after all.
"You'll crash anytime, you should stay here..." I smiled, feeling the warmth of his arm still around me. "I know, Lauu...you're my best friend. I just... I like my independence, you know?"
Laurence sighed again; this time almost wistful. "I know, Andrea." He looked away, his hand lingering on my back a moment before he pulled it away. "You really don't see what's right in front of you sometimes."
I blinked up, confused, "what do you...mean by that?"
"Nothing Andrea." He smiled, "I'll call a taxi for you, okay?" I nodded, still succumbed to the couch.
What does he mean by that?

I woke up the next day feeling after waves of hungover. "AHHH!!!" I whined loudly, slipping out of my bed and going down. I looked like a depressed person that hadn't slept or bathe for days. Memories of last night were fuzzy but I do remember I was with Laurence.
"Sophia..." I rasped. My head was throbbing but I really don't have time for that. I need to drop Sophia school. I went to her room, "Are you ready..for sc-" She wasn't there. I reached down to find her fully dressed, going out the door. "Hey, women! where to?" I followed her, Standing at the door. "Denzel is dropping me! He said he goes to drop Deren from this way only so he can drop me off too!" Sleep left my eyes. Pain amplified. "What the fuck?" I looked out to find Denzel already staring at me, no, Checking me. "You didn't even ask me?" I narrowed me eyes. She tore her gaze away and smiled like a child, "I thought you'd be happy." I huffed, "Happy? At least you should've told me." She lowered her gaze, "I'm sorry." I replied, "You should be." Denzel interrupted, "Stop being so hard on the kid. Kids do these sorts of deals." He flashed me a grin.
Asshole
I shook my head and looked back at Sophia, ignoring him. "Be home on time and focus on studies."
I went inside. I want to sleep more.
DENZEL'S POV
How can someone be so confidential how they're looking.? Probably experiencing hungover and drowsiness. When she came at the edge of the door, i saw her like this. first time. it's kind of cute. disheveled hair, clothes unsettled on body, looked so wasted and tempting. Her eyes were full of drowsiness, oh how cute. I agreed to take Sophia on with me because Deren needed company. This little brother of mine is too needy. I'm not. then why is he so needy? It's like he's attached to Sophia. Welp, I Dunno what I hold for them. As i saw Andrea going back inside, I shouted back:
"Darling, take some pills or you'll pass out. Maybe who knows you'll haunt me then?" I snickered. She turned back, her face unexceptionally cold and tired, annoyed. "I'm not like you, hitting people like a maniac and then change moods like a chameleon."Sassy little bitch.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "Oh please, not like you were resisting me." I heard her grunt and let out an internal laugh. I rotated my head back to see Deren's smirk to me from the car. It almost made me blush. when I turned my face back, SHE WAS JUST IN FRONT OF ME.
"Look, fuck off from here or I'll punch you're annoying face." She shutted the door on my face and I sighed. In those 5 seconds, I thought I had my mathematics exam. Because her perfume, her disheveled appearance, all were testing my patience...to...to...
Not let my lips crash against her...and complete this one.
