The wooden door creaked open, allowing a blast of bright sunlight to break into the otherwise dim and shadowed prison room. Within the rectangular building waited three cells, each connected together, assembled by a series of parallel steel bars, and divided by a thick mesh barrier that appeared razor sharp. There was no light source in the room, aside from the few beams peeking through the small holes and cracks in the rooftop. The air stank of filth and grime, as well as a few other things too unpleasant to mention. Two of the cells remained empty, while the third, the center cell, held Luna's target, the ser Amos.

"Wake up, ya bastard!" howled Joseph, kicking at the cell bars to rouse Amos, who laid in the corner of his cell along the floor, a single empty sack his only cushion. All around him lay small straws of hay, left there for reason Luna dared not imagine. He is not asleep, Luna thought. The roused hay at his feet makes it clear that he knew of our coming. Most likely, he plans for one of them to come into his cell, so that he may attack them and escape.

"I said, get up, ya lousy rat!" Joseph roared once more, already fumbling for the keys to Amos' cell.

"Come on, now Joseph, no need fer this" Tommy offered, his words falling upon deaf ears.

I suppose it would be proper to warn the guardsman about his scheme. Then again...

Joseph turned the key to the door, and swung the door open, with enough strength to rip the thing off its hinges. He stepped into the cell, lifting a foot to kick at Amos.

"I said, GET U–"

Amos leapt to his knees, bringing a thick chunk of wood crashing right through Joseph's standing leg. The knee bent angular and Luna took note of a particularly gruesome SNAP!! that came from the joint. Joseph fell to the floor as his leg crumbled beneath him. Amos quickly scrambled to grab the cell keys, while Tommy ran into the cell, planning to restrain him. It may do to establish some authority over these two.

Luna put out her staff ever so slightly and aimed it at Amos who prepared to swing his blunt weapon towards Tommy.

"STATIS!!"

A gray aura surrounded Amos as he froze in place, his body trapped mid swing. Tommy stumbled to stop himself, waving his hands back to keep from falling forward. Joseph's pained cries filled the room, as Tommy stared at Amos in amazement.

"What the heck is all this?" he asked, tapping the aura with the tip of his index finger, quickly pulling it away in fear.

"Magick, ser," Luna answered. "A simple paralysis magick, to be precise. I suggest you tend to your fellow guardsman while I keep the ser incapacitated."

Tommy stared dumbfounded for a second longer, then moved to aid Joseph to stand upon his working leg.

"Damned, motherfuckin', sonuvabitch," she heard Joseph mutter as Tommy pulled him out of the cell. He lowered Joseph to rest alongside the doorway, as Luna moved to gather the keys to the cell. With them in hand, she looked over her shoulder to ensure the guardsmen remained occupied. Certain that she would not be caught, she quietly slipped the key to Amos' cell of of the key ring. I may have need of this during the interrogation.

Luna exited the cell and closed the door, keys in hand. "I believe these belong to you, ser."

"Aye, thank ya. I'm gonna have to take Joseph over to the town surgeon. I'm afraid we'll have to do this another time."

The Drake will be back tomorrow and we will already be behind as it is.

"You may take him, if you like. I can continue my discussion with the ser alone," Luna answered, already turning her back to the guardsmen, dismissing them.
