First Encounter

Hey all, I decided to write a crossover... again. Hope you all enjoy it.

Six months after the Union of Allied Planets defeated the Independent Planets, an Alliance Tohoku Class cruiser was patrolling the Blue Sun system. Commander Zheng was on deck as the ship helped oversee the terraforming of a planet called Miranda. He didn't know why parliament would focus on this far off planet instead of the newly acquired planets from the war with the Browncoats, but he is a military man so he won't question the elected parliament.

Looking out the port window he sees the vast darkness of space he reflected on his life. Born on Sihnon to a general and a priestess, he and his four siblings were taught about the necessity of discipline. They took those lessons with them into their respected fields. His youngest sister became a registered companion 2 years ago. Her twin brother is now practicing law for the public defender advocates office. The third youngest was in the military like him, but had quit after a mission to take out an independent base gone wrong. Turns out that base was a refugee camp and when he realized what he had done he was wracked with guilt and quite everything; the military, his engagement, and everything else and became a Sheperd through the Southdown Abby. Finally, the oldest sister only 2 years younger than the commander is a doctor on Ariel.

He didn't know why he was reflecting on his life, but he figured the boredom of watching over the edge of the verse is getting to him. Shaking his head, he checked in with the members on the deck. It was in a discussion when a radar specialist spoke up.

"Commander! We have incoming!" The specialist shouted.

Zheng quickly walked towards the specialist. "What do you have?" He asked.

"Two ships commander, both coming from an unknown location sir, and none of the two are in the data base." The specialist said.

This got the commander's interest. "Give me a visual." He ordered.

"Yes sir."

The specialist messed with the console until an image of two ship neither man had ever see before appeared. The first ship looked too severely damage to fly smoothly. Two officers noticed a canon on the center of a pyramid shaped head. The ship behind it was bigger than the smaller ship and looked to be crudely designed, and appeared o be firing on the smaller ship.

"Commander?" The radar specialist asked nervously.

"Keep that image up specialist."

"Yes sir."

"Specialist Chen!"

"Yes sir." A female specialist said.

"Connect me to Alliance command."

"Yes sir!" Chen said.

Looking out the window he sees the ships getting closer to their position. He was tense. He didn't think the remnants of the independents could develop new ships like those, and he didn't think that they would fight each other before the Alliance. There was only one reason why two ships never seen before would come from nowhere, and he hoped he was wrong.

He looked over at specialist Chen who was shaking her head. Zheng cursed quietly before giving a new order. "Contact the terraforming crew, tell them to start evacuating, possible invasion, then keep trying command until you get someone."

"Yes sir."

Looking around the room, the deck looked nervous, some were frightened. "Alright everyone listen up, we have two unidentified ships approaching our position, we keep monitoring their approach and we will not intervene unless they enter the range of our gunships, is that clear."

"Yes sir." They all said uncertainly.

"Now remain calm and make sure that the workers are evacuated from the system."

Looking out the window, the two ship were close enough to get a better look at them. He saw he big one firing on in relentlessly while the smaller one, already damaged, kept flying thank to some sort of shield.

"Sir!" The radar specialist shouted. "They have now entered Alliance Territory."

"All right, send the two ships a language packet and get me in communication with the two ships." Zheng ordered. "Any word from command?"

"A fleet should arrive in 2 days." Chen said.

"Gaisi de." Zheng mumbled making his way to the communication terminal. "Attention, you have entered the territory of the Union of Allied Planets, stand down and be prepared to be boarded."

The crew waited with bated breath. The sensor specialist broke the silence. "Sir the first ship is slowing down sir."

"Sir we are getting a message from the first ship, it appears to be morse code, I think they are calling for help." Chen spoke.

"Commander the second ship is still firing sir." The sensor specialist told him.

"They are also not answering our hails."

"Ta ma de." The commander muttered for a moment before turning towards his crew. "Deploy gunships and fire a warning shot near the second ship.'

"Yes sir."

A missile was fired near the larger ship in warning, then gunships swarmed it like bees. The hope being that they will stand down. It only lasted a second as the ship turned its attention to the gun ships.

"Prepare another missile and give the order for the gun ships to engage with the larger ship." Zheng ordered.

"Yes sir!" The crew responded.

He sees the gunships firing on the larger ship. The rockets seem to do very little damage while the turrets seem to penetrate the shields and ships exterior. Something to note for command.

"Missiles ready sir!" The weapons specialist said.

"Excellent, give the order for the gun ships to scatter."

"Yes sir." Chen said.

"Specialist Son." Zheng said to his weapon specialist. "On my mark, fire a missile at the larger ship."

"Yes commander."

Zheng looked out the window, watching the gunships slowly scatter away from the larger ship. Once all the ships have gotten a good distance away he gave the order.

"Fire."

A missile was launched towards the large ship, and it hit leaving a large hole on the surface. The crew waited a minute for any sign of life from the ship but found none. Zheng turned towards the weapon specialist.

"Bring in the smaller ship and I want a rescue ship sent to the bigger one, but make sure it's escorted by fresh gun ships."

"Yes sir." The crew said.
