AN: I'm like 100% sure that this specific chapter took somewhat inspiration off some fanart of Scaralumi, though I'm unsure of the specific fanart, so if you do know please let me know so I can give proper credit!! Also also, No, Paimon isn't here in this specific chapter because she's too busy eating sticky honey roast with Amber (Lucky that sounds so yummy rn), but rereading this chapter after so long was so nostalgic, I proof read and fixed some spelling and grammatical errors, but either way the chapter is short n sweet, anyways, enough yapping, enjoy the story :3

Lumine had gotten severely injured during one of her commissions, which was no big deal to her, she's arguably gotten worse injuries in the past, but this specific injury involved her nearly getting an arrow to the chest. Which one would assume it's an awful injury no matter where the wound was, but to Lumine, she was fine as long as it didn't hit her chest. So the arrow had hit her abdomen, and she walked all the way back to Mondstadt, all while half haphazardly letting her wound bleed out, since she didn't have anything to stop the bleeding either way.

Lumine was currently in the inn that she was staying at, mostly because Jean had forbidden her from doing anything dangerous and told her to rest and heal, much to Lumine's boredom. So for the past 3 days, she had been occasionally letting nurses in to treat her wound, but even then, she was far from being better. Kaeya and Klee would occasionally visit, but they always had to go after a bit. At Least Lumine could try and unwind, but that was easier said than done.

As Lumine rested, she heard her window open and close. As she looked at the direction of the window, she saw Scaramouche begin his way over, looking furious. "Damn you..." he muttered as he approached Lumine. Once he got close enough he climbed on the bed, grabbed the collar of her shirt. He looked pissed, more pissed than usual. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?! Are you that stupid?!" he scolded, small tears pricking his eyes. Lumine was wide eyed, but her gaze softened as she gently took one of his hands in hers, and placed it on her chest. "Feel that?" she softly cooed as she looked him in the eyes. "It's still beating...I'm still alive and breathing.." she muttered. Scara seemed to calm down a bit, he wasn't as tense and his grip loosened. He placed his forehead on hers as his cold breath hit her face. "Why do I have to care so damn much about you.." he whispered. Lumine hummed in response as she took him in an embrace, the two of them at this point cuddling.

"Scara..." Lumine cooed as she patted the back of his hair. Scara hummed in response. "You came all the way to Mondstadt to see me..?" she asked softly. Scara didn't answer, only placing a small kiss on her cheek. "Is that your answer?" Lumine asked with a chuckle. Scara only scoffed and nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck. Lumine smiled softly and sighed as she snuggled back into him. Usually, Scaramouche felt cold to the touch, but now, he was warm. So warm.

Scara and Lumine stayed like that for the rest of the day and night, though he did have to leave her side when the nurses came for her checkup, much to Scara's annoyance. But as soon as the nurses were done, he'd be right back next to Lumine, protectively cuddling her as she slept. He didn't need sleep, he was functionally immortal, so sleep wasn't needed. But he'll make an exception just for now.

Normally, Scaramouche loathed and would often bicker with Lumine, not only for his utter hatred for humans, but because everywhere he went, she just so happened to be doing something there. But for some reason, he was drawn to her, in a way that he'd kill someone if she were to die. He was too attached. And it scared him. And he hated it. Yet at the same time, he enjoyed her presence and touch. Sure, the two of them had what most would call a 'rocky start', but even after that. Even after he had attempted to end her life, she had been kind to him. She didn't need to be kind to him. No matter how brutally honest or sarcastic he was to her, she still welcomed him with open arms whenever the two had met. He had traveled all the way from Sumeru to see her. But as soon as he asked the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius where she was, he was informed that she had gotten injured, and thus, here he was, cuddled up against her like a pathetic little bug. But in a way, he didn't care.

He felt his eyes get heavy as he was lost in his thoughts. And this time, he let himself fall asleep against her, with Lumine herself being nestled in his arms, fast asleep. Eventually, he fell into a deep, comfortable sleep.
