"We should hit them back." Sevika said. "We've got the numbers to beat them."

"Yeah! Let's teach them what it means to mess with us." A man in the back said, the people around us agreeing.

I was standing behind the bar, drinking a gin tonic, which was my usual.

Vander flicked a match against the wall of the counter and lit his smoke pipe.

"You sure thats what you want?" Vander asked.

"Lets do it." Some female said.

I jumped up on the counter and sat on it, facing everyone else. "We crossed thag bridge once before and we all know how that ended."

"You're just protecting your kids." A man said.

Vander and i glanced at Powder and the rest of them.

"Im protecting our people. I'd do the same for any one of you. We look out of for each other. It's the way its always been. This will blow over. We just need to stand together." Vander says.

"The Vander I knew, the one who built the underground, wouldn't be afraid to fight." Sevika says.

Vander stepped closer to her, inhaling from it. "Do i look afraid?" He said.

"No. You look weak." Sevika said, looking at him. She whistled and walked away, a few men following her.

Sometime later

I was playing pool with a random when i heard the door open. I looked up to see some enforcers.

"Welcome to the last drop." Vander said.

One of the enforcers were Marcus. As he walked by me, with his other men behind him, he gave me a cold glare, as if to scare me.

I sighed and patted the man i was playing with on the shoulder and headed downstairs to where the kids were.

"What did we do now?" Mylo said.

"Nothing. For now." I said, plopping down on the couch.

"For now?" Vi said.

"Just wait a second.." I say.

Just as i finished talking, one of Powder's timed monkeys fell. The four of them looked at me as i pulled out my pack of cigarettes. I didnt say anything and they all found a hiding spot.

An enforcer walked in and looked at me as i took a hit of my cigarette. "Nothing to see here, sir." I say. He just huffed and walked around.

"Not even gonna ask if you can search the place? How rude." I say, getting no answer. I didnt expect to. "Not much of a talker i take it?" The enforcer shined his flashlight in my face. "Cmon man.. Thats bright." I look away and rub my eyes.

Shortly after i annoyed the cop, he walked out. And shortly aftet that, Vander walked in.

"Are you all okay?" He asked.

Vi fell from her spot and landed on her feet. "No were not okay. They almost saw Powder. What if they took her?"

"No one is taking any of you." Vander said.

"It's already happening." She yelled. "You heard him, they wont stop. We need to fight back." Vi hit the wall beside her. "And if you wont, i will."

Vander sighed. "I've heard this kind of talk before."

Everything went silent after Vander grabbed Vi and took her to the roof. It's where he always took me when i got upset.

After sometime, i went upstairs and Powder followed me. I wanted to privately talk with Vander, but now i cant. And thats fine.

I sat down at the bar and looked at Vander, who looked at Powder.

Music began to play as Vander and i both watched Powder. She set her stuffed bunny on the counter and rested her head on her arm.

Vander gave me my usual drink. He makes it better than i do.

I watched as he grabber a cup and some juice, pouring it into the cup and putting a bent up straw in the cup before setting it in front of her. Powder just looked at me, then up to him and put her head back down. Vander looked at me and i met his gaze. He looked at the bunny and picked it up. The realization hit me just as it hit him.

Vander and i immediately left the Last Drop.
