The air in the dimly lit room was thick with tension, each breath sharp, each heartbeat echoing in the stillness. The walls seemed to close in on Kai as he stood in front of a large map spread across a table, meticulously plotting his next move. His dark eyes glinted with a sinister purpose, a cold smile curling at the corners of his lips. His fingers traced the lines of the map, stopping on a particular location: a private estate on the outskirts of Seoul.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps behind him, the soft click of leather shoes against the cold marble floor. A man stepped into the room, tall and imposing, his presence radiating power.

"You’re not wasting any time, I see," the man said, his voice smooth, like honey, but laced with an edge of malice.

Kai turned to face him, his smirk widening. "Time is the one thing I don’t have to waste. We’re on the verge of everything I’ve been working toward." He stepped closer to the man, his hands clasped behind his back. "Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung… they’ve been so good at playing their roles, haven’t they? But the time for games is over. We’ll make them pay for what they’ve done."

The man, who went by the name Minho, nodded slowly, his eyes narrowing with interest. "And you think kidnapping Park Jimin will get you closer to that goal?"

Kai’s smile deepened, a dark, dangerous gleam flashing in his eyes. "Not just Park Jimin. Jimin is the key. Taehyung and Jungkook will come for him, no matter what. And when they do, they’ll walk right into my trap. This time, they won’t escape."

Minho’s lips quirked into a knowing smile, but there was caution in his voice. "You’re playing a dangerous game, Kai. If you fail—"

Kai held up a hand, silencing him. "I never fail."

Jungkook stood in the center of the room, his fists clenched as he paced back and forth, his mind racing through the events of the last few days. Taehyung sat at the table, nursing a glass of water, his face pale but determined.

Jungkook’s frustration was palpable. "We need to find Kai. Now. Before he does something else." His voice was rough, like he hadn’t spoken in days. The adrenaline of the last few days had kept him going, but now, with the brief lull, the exhaustion and the anger were catching up with him.

"We will," Yoongi said from the corner of the room, his tone steady but with an undercurrent of urgency. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, staring at the blueprints of their next move. "But we need to be smart about it. We’re dealing with someone who knows how to get under our skin. We need to plan this carefully."

Taehyung set his glass down, his eyes still clouded with exhaustion but sharp with focus. "Yoongi’s right. We need to make sure we’re prepared. Kai will use anyone close to us to get to us." His voice trembled slightly, but his resolve was ironclad.

Jungkook stopped pacing and looked at Taehyung, his heart clenching at the sight of the man he loved so dearly, so broken but still fighting. "I won’t let anything happen to you again," he said, his voice soft but filled with absolute conviction.

Taehyung’s eyes softened, a flicker of something gentle passing between them, but it was short-lived. The ringing of Jungkook’s phone shattered the moment. He picked it up quickly, his eyes narrowing as he answered.

"Jungkook," a voice said on the other end, sharp and urgent. "We’ve just gotten intel. Jimin’s been taken."

Jungkook’s heart dropped. "What?!" His grip on the phone tightened. "Where is he? Who took him?"

"Unknown assailants. They were too quick. But there’s a message," the voice continued. "They want Taehyung. They know you’ll come for Jimin, and when you do, they’ll make sure you both pay."

The words hit like a sucker punch, leaving Jungkook reeling for a moment. "Kai," he muttered, his eyes flashing with rage. He could feel the blood in his veins boil. This was it. The game had changed. They were no longer hunting him down. Now, Kai was going after his family his brothers. His heart clenched. "Where is he?"

"We don’t have all the details yet, but we know it’s a trap," the voice said, urgency creeping into its tone. "Jungkook, you have to move quickly."

Jungkook snapped the phone shut, his breath shallow with fury. "He’s going after Jimin. He thinks this will make us break. He’s wrong."

Yoongi’s eyes hardened, and Namjoon stepped forward, his expression as grim as ever. "We need to move fast. Kai knows exactly how to push us. Jimin’s in real danger."

Taehyung stood abruptly, the chair scraping against the floor. "I’m going with you."

"Taehyung..." Jungkook started, his voice a warning.

"No." Taehyung’s voice was firm, steel beneath the softness. "This isn’t just about you. Jimin is family. And I won’t stand by while you go alone into a trap." His eyes met Jungkook’s, filled with raw emotion. "You’re not alone in this. We fight together."

Jungkook met Taehyung’s gaze, his chest tightening. He wanted to protect Taehyung, but he understood the resolve behind those words. "Alright," Jungkook said quietly. "But you stay behind me. We’ll get him back. Alive."

---

Hours later, the group arrived at the location—the quiet estate surrounded by tall, black gates and barbed wire, an eerie silence hanging over the place. The tension in the air was thick, and every sense felt heightened, on edge. Kai’s trap was set, and they could feel it.

Jungkook’s pulse raced as he surveyed the perimeter, his body taut with anticipation. He could almost hear Kai’s laughter in his mind, mocking him, daring him to come closer. But he couldn’t stop now. Not with Jimin’s life on the line. He motioned to Namjoon, Yoongi, and Taehyung, signaling that they were ready to move.

They slipped into the estate, moving swiftly, shadows blending with the night. The building loomed before them, its windows dark and unwelcoming. Jungkook’s heart pounded in his chest, the familiar weight of his gun heavy in his holster, his instincts on high alert.

As they reached the main door, and before Jungkook could make a move, the sound of a door creaking open behind them froze them in place. A figure stepped out from the darkness—Kai. His smirk was wide, malicious, and completely at ease.

"I was wondering when you’d show up," Kai said, his voice smooth and taunting, as if he’d been expecting them all along.

Jungkook’s hand instinctively moved toward his gun, but Kai’s laughter cut him off. "But you’re too late," he continued, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Jimin is already mine. And if you want him back... you’ll have to pay the price."

The walls seemed to close in. Jungkook’s jaw tightened, and his body shook with fury. "Let him go."

Kai tilted his head, the smirk never fading. "I’m afraid it’s not that simple." He took a slow, deliberate step toward them, his eyes scanning each of them with cold calculation. "You see, I want everything. Your precious, childhood best friend is just the beginning. After all, what’s the fun in destroying you if you’re not broken beyond repair?"

In the midst of the tense standoff, Jungkook’s mind raced, every fiber of his being screaming to protect those he loved, to end this madness once and for all. The air was charged with an impending explosion of violence and danger. And as Kai’s cold, merciless gaze held them captive, Jungkook knew one thing he would not let anyone else he loved fall to Kai’s twisted plans. No one.

But in all this chaos going on in his mind, Jungkook missed the shocked expression of  the boy standing behind him.
