As Liko pet Kirlia Pokeball in her pocket, she suddenly heard Professor Satoshi's voice calling her name. She turned to see him waving her over. Nervously, she approached him, and he told her he wanted to show her something special. He gestured for her to follow, leading her through the museum halls until they reached a room with an sign reading "Legend of Jirachi.".
They entered a quiet room, with a large statue of the mythical Pokémon Jirachi at the center. Satoshi stood in front of the statue, gazing up at it. "You know, Jirachi spends most of its time asleep," he said softly. "Only once in a thousand years does it wake, and then it can grant a single wish." He turned to her, eyes curious. "So, if you could meet Jirachi and make a wish, what would it be?"
Liko paused, taken aback by the question. She thought deeply, then finally said, "I think... I'd wish to go back in time and travel alongside Ash Ketchum. He went on so many amazing adventures, met so many different Pokémon, and even befriended legendary ones." She gave a wistful smile, imagining the thrill of being part of such a journey.
Satoshi returned her smile and asked, "Are you planning to go on an adventure of your own after you graduate?"
Liko's smile faded, replaced by a look of disappointment. "Well... my parents want me to become a nurse. They think that's a safer, more stable path for me."
Satoshi nodded thoughtfully. "People change over time, Liko. Sometimes dreams can outlast expectations, and with patience, even the biggest obstacles can fade."
Liko felt her confidence grow. Mustering her courage, she decided to bring up what she'd seen the previous night. "Professor... last night, I saw you leaving on a Charizard. You... you wouldn't happen to know anything about... the grave, would you?"
Satoshi paused. After a moment, he looked at her. "Yes, Liko. I am involved."
Liko's eyes widened in shock. She managed to stammer out, "But... why would you do that?"
Satoshi sighed, casting his gaze back at the statue. "I didn't want people turning my friend's resting place into a spectacle, a tourist attraction. He deserves peace, not the flash of cameras and the noise of strangers."
Liko felt a pang of understanding. "I... I think I understand. I wouldn't want someone disturbing the resting place of someone dear to me either."
Satoshi gave a faint smile and patted her head gently, causing her cheeks to redden. Liko decided in her mind to keep this secret. If Satoshi had gone through all that trouble to give his friend peace, then he must have cared deeply for him.
But then, as she replayed his words, something clicked. Wait... did he say 'friend'? Liko's heart skipped. Does that mean... Professor Satoshi was friends with Ash Ketchum?
