"this is funny."
byulyi tells her parents, ending up wearing a dark red dress, her earrings dangling prettily, colored gold- wearing a pair of gold heels to match her red dress and her brown hair.
she couldn't understand.
why is it only the first time that she's meeting her dad's side of a family- and why are they strictly wearing a formal attire- when all of them are used to wearing casual outfits whenever they hang around, tour somewhere- and go out of town?
byulyi was thoroughly confused, arms crossed while they are waiting for another party to come as they've said- hearing her mom whisper. "you uncross that set of arms right now before i make you, young lady."
byulyi then blinks- whispering. "omma, what's with-"
"i told you to stop with the casual conversations when your dad's family come, they'll surely scold us for raising you to be free-spirited."
"then why raise us-"
"because i was not expecting them to call us for this." her dad cuts in, sending byulyi a warning glare- causing the daughter to purse her lips, shutting her eyes close and nod.
"is dad rich?"
"mm." her mom murmurs, seeing byulyi's little chuckle fade away- eyes growing wide. "what do you mean by that?"
"so- my eldest, i'm really happy that you came with your family tonight for the deal and dinner."
byulyi then hears her grandfather speak in a formal tone, causing her to grimace for a moment and watch him fix his glasses, looking around.
"i've figured that you might've need a good conversation since you rarely called me for the company's progress." her dad laughs softly- making byulyi frown even more, her hand comically rubbing her earlobe to ask herself-
company-
a what?
she shoots her mom a glare- seeing her glare at her in return, somehow telling her with those eyes; i'll tell you later.
"i've been seeing that your sister has been handling the company in these past few years badly, and i think it's time that you had a fair share of having the burden of getting the company rise once more." he says, as byulyi was baffled.
since when did we had a company in the family-
i thought we're from rags!?
byulyi frowns even more, trying to handle the situation calmly- turning over to seulgi and yesol whom was as well; looking baffled.
"i understand, sister might've been having a hard time from having a kid as a single mom- you couldn't blame her." her dad speaks softly, as byulyi was trying to internalize it.
her dad was always goofy and playful, so seeing him talk formally- in terms of business, where the heck is he when she needed him to make her feel like a CEO!? this little sh-
she soon hears her phone ringing, parting her mouth open as she grimaces softly- bowing down.
"i'm sorry, my company is calling me- can i excuse myself?" she asks them, seeing her mom sigh in defeat as she just motions her to leave- with byulyi's eyes meeting her grandfather's.
