CHAPTER 11 : THE CABIN

It has been a long time since I have had a dreamless sleep, turns out the whole time the antidote to my sleepless nights was Cad.

“Morning beautiful” he whispered in his husky voice, sending shivers through my body.

“Good morning handsome” I returned with a huge smile.

“Ready for today?” He asked as he sleepily rubbed his eyes I stretched, suddenly remembering how sore I was I cringed and stopped.

“Yah I’m ready” I said with a grin before he could ask me if I was ok.

“Alright go get dressed I’ll get us some breakfast.” As he helped me out of bed he gave me a kiss on the cheek before making his way downstairs and I was left sitting on the bed with a love struck look on my face. I was sure of it.

I wandered over to my bedroom looking for something to wear not really sure of what we were going to do. Then I heard a gentle knock on my door.

“Can we come in?” Alyce and Elaine stood in the door with big grin’s on their faces and I was sure they knew what the plan was for the day.

“Sure” I said as they came into the room before I could really answer. They were all giggly and I knew I was in for a great day.

“You excited?” Alyce asked excitedly and I nodded enthusiastically.

“Do you guys know what we are doing? So you can help me pick out what to wear.” I asked biting my bottom lip feeling horribly nervous and excited.

“Yes that’s why we are up here, to help” Elaine said giggling and I couldn’t help but blush.

“Ok so what do you guys have in mind?” I asked as they rummaged through my closet.

“You just sit there and we will take care of all of it.” Alyce said with a smile.

Before I knew it I was in dark jean shorts that where mid-thigh, a white tank top with a light white lace shirt over it and brown flip flops with a long feather necklace. I was on the bed letting them do my hair into and intricate bun with a braid band when there was another knock on the door. We all looked and Bryce was leaning against the door looking very happy.

“Am I interrupting?” He asked and I shook my head.

“No come on in” I ushered and he quickly walked over to Elaine’s side embracing her without a seconds thought.

“You look great are you excited?” Bryce asked after kissing Elaine’s cheek.

“Yah I’m a little nervous though.” I admitted with a warmth tinting my cheeks from a blush.

Bryce came over and gave me an easy hug and I was happy we could keep a simple friendship. “Nothing to be nervous about you guys are so great he really loves you. You are going to have a great time.” he gently squeezed my shoulder and just like that Bryce took on the role of big brother. This felt more natural we were never meant to be together. We were always meant to be in each other’s life but as friends, nothing more.

“Thanks Bryce” I said and with that they all took a step back and gave me a thumbs up. Alyce was looking teary eyed and I figured it was time to go get breakfast before I got stuck up here in a cry fest.

“Better get down stairs and eat” I said quickly making my way to the door feeling a little self-conscious of myself. I had a lot of new scars and bruises. I didn’t feel beautiful. I sighed and ignored it by avoiding the mirrors. Even though it had been a day or so I was able to easily move around again as long as I didn’t make any sharp movements it was relatively pain free.
