They say absence makes the heart grows fonder, is that true?

Alessandra's pov

After splitting from Anael I went to find my Mom, she was in her room. I need her advice on the situation, the situation being getting Anael to like me. I knock

"Who is it?" My Mom called through the door

"Your favorite daughter" I joked

"You're my only child let alone daughter" She smiled as she opened the door, she let me in "What's up baby girl?"

"When are we going home?"

"I was thinking we stay until tomorrow night, I've been getting along well with Noami but if you want to go home now we can"

"NO!...I mean that's not necessary I was just asking"

"Hm..is it because of a certain woman?" She teased

"I need your help, she'll barely talk to me though I feel like she's like that to everyone but how do I pursue someone who barely speaks to me?

"If she would speak to you directly just don't let her know it's you"

"And what is that supposed to mean"

"Go old fashioned, write her a letter"

4 hours later I get back to my room at the Crescent Moon pack house after going shopping for some things. I sat at the desk with a pen and paper before writing Hi Anael. For the next 30 minutes I stare at the almost blank paper trying to figure out what to write. Come on Alessandra just start with something simple, ask a question. I start writing, when the letter is done and I feel good with what I wrote I plug in the hot glue gun before picking off the petals of the single rose I bought. I write Hi on the front of the baby pink envelope and throw some black glitter on it, when it dries I shake for the rest of the glitter leaving just the glittered Hi, I like the contrast of the color. I slid the letter into the envelope along with some of the petals and closed it up.

2 hours pass and I still have yet to gain the courage to get up and slip my letter under her door. Someone knocks on my door "Who's there?"

"Your favorite mother" She repeated my joke from earlier

I laugh and let her in. She sits on my bed tilting her head when she sees my little arts and crafts project on the desk "Is that your letter?"

"Yup" I nod

"So why is it here instead of in her hands?"

"I'm nervous"

"Why? It's not like she'll know it's from you that's the good thing about letter, you can choose to add your name"

I think about it and suddenly I feel stupid, I didn't write my name on it so why am I nervous. I grab the latter off the desk and look at my Mom "I'll be right back" I said before running out, going up to the 4th floor where Anael and Atlas's rooms are. I stop between two doors trying to figure out which was hers since when we came up here during the tour she didn't specify which was hers and which was Atlas's.

Atlas stepped out of his room and looked at me, he probably heard my heartbeat but when it didn't move he came out to check who it was "Something wrong?" he asked, I just shook my head knowing Anael would hear me if I spoke. He went back In his room and I slid the letter under the opposite door before running off.

Hi Anael, I notice you don't seem to be a fan of speaking to people so I decided to try a different method so I thought you'd probably throw this letter out as soon as you finished reading but based on how you act I figured I'd get you to respond by simply not adding a name. It'll bother you that you don't know who it's from which will urge you to respond. To make this fun you have to use questions to figure out who I am, it can't be my name or anything about the physical appearances of me or my family. You get one question per letter. I'll start, What's your favorite flower?

PS. leave your response letters under the flower pot in the living room, this will be where the transaction of letters will take place.

Well that explains why a bunch of rose petals fell out of the envelope when I took the letter out. I also have to admit this is pretty clever, they hit the bullseye, I'm not gonna stop until I know who it's from so I mean why not have a bit of fun doing so? It was also very smart to make the transaction place in the living room, since people go in and out of the living room all day there's really no way to tell who put it there plus no one ever moves the flower pot so the letters won't be found by anyone who isn't looking for them.

I just look through the letter over and over again trying to see if she slipped up in any way but after about an hour of looking it over it was obvious there was nothing there to tell me who she was. I gave up looking over it and just grabbed a pen and paper to write my own

You're innovative, I'll give you that, player 1. I am interested in who you are so I'll play along. I like roses but they're not my favorite. There are so many colors, so many meanings. A symbol of love but that's why I don't love the flower, I've never had luck with love. People don't want me because they love me, they want me because I am to be Alpha of the worlds most feared pack. My favorite flowers are Lantanas. My question for you is why are you so insistent on talking to me?

-Curiously, your player 2

I slid it in a plain white envelope and got up from my desk, walked out and went downstairs. No one was down there, probably up in their rooms cuddling up and shit, I slipped the letter under the flower pot and went back to my room.

The next morning, I got up and the morning went as normal, shower, get dressed, go downstairs, and eat breakfast with everyone. I look at Anael who talked quietly with Daniel then I glance at the flower and see a bit of white paper peek out. After breakfast everyone went their separate ways and I quickly go back up to my room. I read it over

"Lantanas, beautiful flower really" Bella popped in

"You know what they are" I plop down at my desk and pick up a pen twirling it between my fingers

"Of course. Latanas also called Lantana montevidensis is a beautiful race of plants that grow low to the ground and also produces a profusion of lavender, purple or white flowers which also attract butterflies. They are relatively harmless unless ingested."

As she echoes in my head I pull my phone out of my pocket to search it up "It really is beautiful"
