"Thank you, come again!" You waved goodbye to the customer and stared down at the cash register. Business had been booming recently and it didn't seem like it could get any better.
Although work had been going well for you and you were getting paid well, it still didn't change the fact that it had been downright stressful and it's taken a huge toll on your time management. People had been coming and going before you even got a chance to realize it. Your sleep hadn't been the best and neither had your eating habits.
Working at a famous restaurant can have its flaws. It's hard to count the amounts of people that come in just for the sake of it and to complain when their order isn't right when the waiters heard them announce their order ten times so it couldn't have been wrong. Those kinds of people are the ones that start to make you reconsider your career choices.
But you can't help but love it in the end, besides from the flaws.
"Y/N are you good out there? Do you need help?" Your best friend and worker, Chloe, asked from the kitchen.
"No, It's okay." You replied brushing her off with your hand but regained composure when you saw a customer enter the building.
Nothing unusual about this. Just keep doing what you've always been doing.
It was a younger woman with long ebony black hair and bangs that flowed down her forehead. Your mouth opened in shock when you saw her face. She was beautiful.
The woman came closer and looked up towards the menu and stared at it for a few seconds, tilting her head to the side before greeting you and telling you her order. You nodded your head and reassured her it wouldn't be long and she thanked you while going to sit down on a table near the window.
Something about her looked familiar, but you just couldn't put your finger on it.
You shook your head and wrote down the order to give to the kitchen. Now you just wait.
It doesn't usually take that much time, but the chef can be unpredictable at times and sometimes the order takes longer. It didn't matter though, as long as the customers were quickly served then there shouldn't be any problems.
A sigh of relief escaped from your lips and before you knew it your best friend tapped you on the shoulder and broke you out of your imagination.
"Hey look at her over there." She nodded her head up in the direction of the person and you recognized them immediately as the customer you served just previously."What about her?" You responded but she raised an eyebrow as if you were stupid.
"What do you mean? Do you seriously not know who that is?" She scoffed jokingly but it still didn't hit you about what she was on about.
"I'm so confused. What are you talking about?" You furrowed your eyebrows, it didn't make sense to you what she was saying. None of it made sense whatsoever.
"You're an idiot." She slapped your shoulder playfully.
"Okay then." You shook your head and walked into the kitchen to wash your hands in the sink. Thankfully the place wasn't too busy today but that could change at any moment so it isn't the best to assume things in here.
After the events with Chloe, she didn't bother you too much for the rest of the day. She had her own work business to attend to and did you so it meant that there wasn't going to be much interaction between the two of you.
Which was a good and a bad thing.
The bad part is that you're going to be alone and the good part is no distractions whatsoever, so you don't know what to think.
After washing your hands and finishing your kitchen business you went back to the checkout and saw the same woman standing there gazing around the building. Now that she was close up to you she smiled at you and balanced her arms on the counter.
"Do you need anything else?" You smiled back and she looked up into your eyes closer.
This strange encounter with someone else isn't something that hasn't happened before. There were many weird situations in this place that you've felt but for some reason, it felt different. Her aura was different, the look on her face like she was studying each detail of yours.
You gulped and looked away, ignoring the encounter completely."Yes, that will be all." She moved away from the counter picked out her card from her pocket and tapped it on the reader to pay once you had typed in the amount due.
"Thank you, come again!" You smiled with your eyes shut, causing her to lowly chuckle and turn around to walk out of the building without another word spoken.
Everything about that encounter was strange, it was nothing you had experienced. It was like she was flirting with you which you didn't have happen before in your time of work.
"So you don't recognize her?" Chloe eyed you up and down and you rolled your eyes.
"Listen, I don't know what you're hinting at but it's annoying." You frowned.
"Come on it's obvious!" She leaned on the counter. "Did you not recognize that face?"
You thought for a moment. Have you ever seen her face before or not? Because what Chloe was telling you was confusing you even more and more of the fact that you didn't know this woman and hadn't ever seen her face before in your life.
After a few moments of thinking, you concluded not seen this woman in your life ever.
"No, not familiar." You shook your head.
"Oh goodness... You're hopeless."
"Hey, what?" You retorted.
"Anyway it's time for break I'll see you later." She stopped leaning waving you goodbye and disappeared off into the break room.
That gave you enough time to think about the events that occurred today.
Have you ever seen this woman before?
