I won't compare thee to a summer's day,

Your love is colder than a winter's chill

The warmth you hide, a mask of your dismay,

A love that fades with time, against my will

Hate lingers within you, concealing truth

The resentment you harbour in those eyes

Your words glimmer with ghosts of our shared youth

My heart divided with your sweet lies

An angel stripped of its wings, tormented

Betrayed by all the wrongs you've wrought, gnawing

My love unspoken, silently resented

Discouraged hope, my heart forever longing

Still, I walk a road that leads to love denied,

Where lost desires and time itself collide
