PACIFIC RIM - MY AU

CHAPTER 1

Hayden (V.O): "When I was little, whenever I would feel small and lonely, I would look up. To the stars, wondered if there was life up there..."

(Suddenly, sparks of lightning appear, lighting up the area showing that it is actually the bottom of the ocean.)

Hayden (V.O): "It turned out I was looking in the wrong direction. When alien life entered our world, it was from deep beneath the Pacific Ocean. A fissure between two tectonic plates.."

(A fiery tear appears above the fissure, taking the shape of a crack...)
Hayden (V.O): "A portal between dimensions."

(The water around the tear starts get absorbed, the tear glowing.)

Hayden (V.O): "The Breach... I was 9 years old when the first Kaiju made land in San Francisco in 2013."

(The tear flashes before the scene changes to show a massive bridge under attack by a giant scaled monstrosity with four eyes, sharp claws, and a horn like extension on its forehead. It starts tearing the bridge apart with ease, causing Cars to fall to the ocean, killing the Drivers in them. Fighter Jets attack it, shooting from their guns, but their bullets have no effect as the monster simply destroys them effortlessly...)

Hayden (V.O): "By the time Tanks, Jets and missiles took it down, six days and thirty five miles later, three cities had been destroyed."

(The screen shows people running in panic, the leftover bridge seen from the helicopter as well as blue substance in the ocean.)
Hayden (V.O): "Tens of thousands of lives had been lost.."
(The scene changes to show, buildings falling apart, and people trying to run away...)

Hayden (V.O): "We mourned the dead, memorialized the attack and moved on..."

(Sightings of people helping others next to the corpse of the beast, followed by news showing officials assuring the populace. It then shows many graves with the symbol of America before finally showing a lab with the beast's skull in a container.)

Hayden (V.O): "And then, just six months later..."

(A loud roar Is heard as the camera shows a different Kaiju attacking another city, people fleeing for their lives as buildings shake)
Hayden (V.O): "The second attack hit Manlla.."
(News screens show the footprints of the beast, followed by the Kalju standing over the burning city. The news reporter is talking about the acidity of the Kailu blood, now referred to as Kaiju blue...)

Hayden (V.O): Then the third one hit Atlas."

(A Military Ship is shown carrying Kaju remains and scientists covered in blue liquid.)

Hayden (V.O): And then the fourth. and then we realized...."

(The scene showed children holding hands and looking over at the burning remains of ships, boats and buildings..)

Hayden (V.O): "This was NOT gonna stop.. This was just the beginning.
(The scene changes again, showing people running away and then showing the monster roaring at the city."

Hayden (V.O): *We needed a new weapon."
(The scene changes to show people rioting and throwing stuff at the police, who arrest some of them..)

Hayden (V.O): "The world came together, Pooling its resources and throwing aside old rivalries for the sake of the greater good."

(The scene shows representatives all talking and a person proposing an idea, followed by Factories hard at work, creating pieces for giant machines.)
Hayden (V.O): "To FIGHT monsters, we CREATED monsters of our own... The Jaeger program was born.'

(A man is shown with wires connected to him. He holds out his arm and clenched his fist, the robot arm behind him moving in response..)

Hayden (V.O): "However, There were setbacks at first...

(Several Scientists carry a Man to a chair. His nose starts bleeding, and one of the Scientists looks his eyes and sees horrible scars as the Man continues to bleed.)

Hayden (V.O): "The neural load for interface proved to be too dangerous for a single Pilot..so, a two Pilot system was implemented. Left hemisphere, right hemisphere pilot control."

(An interface shows a single pilot before splitting into two pilots with each having their respective hemispheres glowing. It then shows a Jaeger being carried by cars and solders marching in the front...

Hayden (V.O): *We started to fight back, and we slowly started to win... Jaegers were stopping Kaius all over the world."

(A night vision camera shows a blue Jaeger with a fin on its chest, Romeo Blue, fighting a Kaiju and beating it up)

Hayden (V.O): "But the Jaegers were only as good as their Pilots...Jaeger Pilots started turning Into rock stars."

(The scene shows twin Adult Men on a Talk Show)

Hayden (V.O): "Danger turned into propaganda."

(A scene of a straw Kaju is shown being burned by people as they sing around it.)
Hayden (V.O): "Kaljus, into toys."
(A child played with toys that looked like Kaijus and Jaegers. It changed to sneakers modeled with scales and metal, to a woman wearing a Kaiju get up and a white Jaeger with blades on its arms, Tacit Ronin, standing over the remains of a Kaiju..)

Hayden (V.O): "We got really good at it. Winning..."

(The camera shows people living peacefully, with some cities having Kaiju remains as tourist attractions.)

Hayden (V.O): *And then...Everything changed..."
